just about manageable now without snow shoes as trail was broken. eighteen inches of snow throughout. Icy conditions so microspikes essential

My son and I hiked from the day use parking lot to the Strike Lake campground. Trail was in great condition and so was the camp. We had a great time and would like to go back next year again.

Left from the bridge on the way to lightning lakes. Easy going, but obscured view due to wildfires. Tons of wildlife activity in the first few kms, but didn't meet anything dangerous on the trail. Looking forward to the view without the smoke

great 1/2 day hike, 8.2 km one way, took us 3.5 hours to hike up, smoke from wild fires obscured the view so we will definitely do it again when there is a good view,

Make sure you start this loop from the "correct" end. Difficult rating will be really different. Terrain varies from the alpine meadows to the forest on the Grainger Trail. Nicomen Lake is behind you the "pretty" is gone as it is all forest. it's amazing how 21 kilometers downhill can be tiring.

Challenging trail but the views make it totally worth it. Beautiful vistas and wide alpine meadows full of wildflowers. Absolutely stunning. Hiked to Mowich camp and spent the night. Be prepared for bear encounters!

Hiked to windy joe two weeks ago. Challenging as you go straight up to get to the top. Once we were on the top the look out was locked, so we were not able to check it out.

It was a great little hike, not a lot of elevation. Late and river is absolutely stunning you really get some beautiful views. Although we tried to go pass the sigh that says dangerous and there was not much there is really rocky terrain. We turned around and came back. A great hike for someone who doesn't hike often but still wants to spend a day in nature. It took us all in all 7 hours to complete it but we didn't really make a lot of stops.

great ridge hike and a good day hike loop. steady and steep up to the ridge then moderate ups and downs. great views of the chain lakes below and the surrounding peaks. limited water on the route except for creaks form the melting snow.

good in the summer or winter. moderate and consistent grade with nice wide path. in the winter snow shoe or tour up and stay the night in the fire lookout at the top. not much for views on the way up.

An easy hike through dense forest to a very secluded mountain lake. Pretty spot but not as majestic as nearby Hozomeen Lake.
