We really love this trail. There are lots of dogs off-leash so think twice if that's not your thing. Also lots of vehicle break-ins in the parking lot so leave your valuables at home/hotel or carry them with you. Lots of exposed tree roots, wear sturdy walking shoes.

Excellent view from the trestle! Pretty steep trail, but worth it(:

nice trail, great view from top. Be sure to keep going to the second look out- we almost missed it as all pics online are from first lookout.

The last quarter is basically steep rock. Be prepared for a workout the last little bit. Pretty well maintained and marked. Make sure to have water and talk safety with kids. Young children aren't recommended for the last bit of the climb but it is doable.

Such a beautiful and ultimately thrilling trail. Be sure to see the waterfall on the lower trail before you climb up to the trestle.

Nice short trail, but it gets pretty steep in some sections. The waterfall is tiny, but a nice stop before heading up to the trestle.

I love this trail. It's a little difficult to find the trailhead but easy once you are on it. There is one small steep part where there are ropes to help you get up through large tree roots and it was challenging with our little terrier as he had to be lifted in a couple of spots but our more lanky lab cross who is only 18lb made it through no problem. Amazing views on a clear day. This is great if you are looking for a short but challenging local hike to get up and out relatively fast and a great alternative to Finalyson if you want to avoid the crowds because its a bit of a hidden gem.

Interesting hike, very poor signage. You’ll need to park next to the southbound highway one, across from Goldstream Provincial Park parking. Then walk along the highway northbound, there is a the beginning of the trail.

Alternatively you can park at the Goldstream provincial park, go under the tunnel, then climb uphill. There is a waterfall if you walk straight after crossing the tunnel.

I won’t take very young children to the railway trestle, there are no railings on either side, and sections of the trail are quite steep.

Did this with our children today. Quick hike. Beautiful view

Great trail with a waterfall and railway trestle bridge. Poor signage-helps to take a pic of the nap at the start. To get to the waterfall follow the stream bed. Wear running/hiking shoes.

hard trail , but worth the effort GORGEOUS views . Went with my 13 yr old son and our 2 dogs :-)

Don’t miss checking out Niagra falls before heading up to the trail. It really is beautiful. Crossing the bridge is quite a rush! - Further on there is a second trestle bridge and beyond that a tunnel. It all made for a great afternoon.

Worth the hike! Gorgeous views.

Great trail, beautiful views. Hike it at least once every summer.

I started the hike from the Westin. I really enjoyed the hike, however I feel it’s important to mention that in many parts of this hike you are scrambling over rocks. Using your hands to climb. I didn’t expect that, and it’s steep at some points. Be prepared to get dirty. Really enjoyed the workout and the view from the summit.

Beautiful walk, mostly along the side of the ridge. Not difficult - even brought my blind little dog on a short leash.

Challenging but not too long. Just right for a few hours. Great views!

quick and dirty hike

great views

Easy 1.5 hour hike, view at about half an hour and then again 15 min later. A bit of steep rocky areas.

Great views after a relatively steep, well marked ascent. Mostly road and poorly marked and neglected trails after the power line. Strongly recommend considering another route for descent.

Not sure why this is getting such great reviews. Maybe cause this is as nice as it gets for the island? I live on the mainland and lots of the hikes I’ve done are spectacular. Anyways, this wasn’t hard imo, pup and me got to the top pretty quick but the view wasn’t too impressive so we didn’t spend any time at the top.

Great hike on a sunny, clear day. If it is a hot day and you have a dog with you bring water as no streams.

My favourite hike !

Nice climb.. fire road out

Its very challenging and its a great workout. Also offers beautiful view.

Was wondering if anyone knew of the best place to park for completing this hike?
Also if it’s easier than completing the front side? Wanting to take my ma
