Beautiful lake at the end, expect some stair climbing on rocks instead of stairs. Great hike, loved it.

The hike was fairly mellow until the last 1km where it got decently steep. The memorial plaque was around 1h 10 min up the trail and then another 1hr to the top of the hike with the Propeller of the plain crash. It was cool to see the memorial but I was disappointed that you can’t hike to the top of the peak.
It took 2hr 10min up and 1hr 20min down at a fast walking pace.

Amazing hike, beautiful lake

Good hike

you would need a good ground clearance and 4wd

Too foggy to see anything, can't wait to try again

Had a great hike up to the second lake.
She's a steep knee grinder both ways so beware.
I brought my dog and we got through it in 6.5 hours with a bit of a lunch hangout at the wrecked platform.
Met two nice guys searching for old mine shafts and found an old Spear head while hiking this trail.
Totally recommend!

Sep 2. Left parking lot at 8:45, summited at 12:45. Left peak at 1:15, back at car at 4:00 p.m.

Having done Frosty Mountain the day before, this one really challenged me. The climb up in the forest is relentless with nothing to see. Finally we reached the lower lake. The upper lake is even more beautiful and the views get even better as you get higher up. Views from the peak are amazing! Well worth the climb. My 13 pound dog and my friends’ 2 big dogs made it up and down no problem. My knees hurt a lot during the last hour but I mostly ran through it as we wanted to get down in a decent time.

on Cheam Peak

Some easy off-roading (during summer time I guess). Need a 4x4 truck with high clearance. Nice views everywhere when no wildfires. Will definitely return.

The scramble was too much for me and my friend, it seemed more like rock climbing at points. We followed the footsteps at the beginning of the hike (there was some snow and was our first time) which led us way off trail. Ended up taking 2hrs45mins to get past the needle peak/flatiron lake junction. 1hr10mins down. Very easy to find your direction, highway was nearly dead North and could see it from most viewpoints. 10/10 will hike again later this year!

Great hike, just as hard coming down as going up. Rocky and slippery. Awesome views.

Awesome hike. Took us 2.5 hrs to top of peak. Recommend bringing a wind breaker and gloves for the scramble at the end! Amazing views. Great hike for whole family, less adventerous people can split off and go to the lake!

Pretty decent, short hike. Good with kids.

Trail was in good shape. Not a lot of steep grade. Worth noting, the memorial is not at the end of the trail. I’m guessing it’s more around 4km from start of trail to memorial. Also the road is in very rough shape the last kilometre. I would recommend walking it rather than beat the crap out of your 4 whelp drive.

Hiked up to the ridge on Saturday but got rained out. Came back on Monday and got to the peak. Weather was awesome with no trace of smoke in the sky after the rain on the weekend. Loved the scramble sections, wish they were longer! This trail should be rated as hard because of the scrambles and steep first section. If the Flatiron trail is rated hard in AllTrails, this one is definitely hard. (I backpacked Flatiron last year). Would go do it again! (I don't like that the AllTrails map shows a circular route, thats now how most people hike it and the east ridge looks very challenging.)

Great loop trail that is longer than it looks! Set aside about 3-4 hours to get all the way around. An easy hike with interesting parts to keep it entertaining for all skill levels. We started at the private group camp site and it got confusing when we came to the public weaver campsite. We ended up going behind the beach and had to walk the last 45 mins back along the dusty road. Recommend just cutting through the beach to stay on the pretty forest trail.

One of my favourite hikes of all time. You will need a proper 4wd truck/SUV with decent ground clearance to make it up.
Hike took around 3.5 hours round trip with stopping for photos in between and at the top

We couldn't find the left side of the loop trailhead. Couldn't find it from Needle Peak either. Smoke impaired the views but wasn't smellable on the trail until getting to the junction for Flatiron. Took us 4 hours to summit Needle peak and took a few photos before retreating from flying ants. Beautiful views. Sketchy scrambling up to second ridge and to peak. Was hard hike for us.

Great hike up to both lakes, lots of rocks to climb over, so make sure you have shoes with great grip.

WARNING: for overnight hikers, we saw 6-7 cars with their driver windows smashed. Do not leave any valuables inside. My guess is this happened overnight when there weren't people around. Not sure what action we could take on this!

Good cardio for first hour and stunning views.

Pure Hell wasn't far from the truth. Although I wasn't feeling the best we all powered through it. Amazing waterfalls all along the way and the lake was stunning, a few of us even went for a swim. I thought the first half was hard enough.. and then you start the second half

We hiked this August 11th-12th for one overnight. I want to start of with saying that my car got broken into and badly vandalized! Such a shock to find my car that way, I bought the vehicle 10 days ago! :(. They tried prying open the hood, broke the front grill, smashed a window, damaged things underneath the steering wheel, everything was turned upside down, they undid the battery. I couldn't even drive it home. After hitch-hiking to town to get phone reception I was able to set everything in motion (police, tow truck, ICBC, etc.). It was a very sad and stressful day. There were more cars with broken windows, but my car seemed the only vandalized. Be careful out there, however I am unsure how I could've prevented vandalism like that..

About the hike. It was amazing, and steep! We were in cloud cover, but still had a fantastic time camping up at Upper Pierce Lake.

Good change to an alpine hike from more typical lower mainland trails. Nice flowers, butterflies and birds as well. The views at the top are supposed to be great but visibility today was limited due to smoke. It was still really good even though I didn’t get the “full experience” at the top. The trail itself is in excellent condition though the same cannot be said for the road. The road has a lot of washout but they are really solid bottomed so you don’t need to worry about anything but clearance.

Beware to those staying overnight: when we arrived Sunday morning (Aug 12), we saw that the cars of those who stayed over Saturday night were broken into. At least 4 cars had their windows smashed and one vehicle had the grill taken off their car and the front hood and back door was banged up. We had to tell everyone on their way down (as we were going up) that their vehicle likely got messed up - real bummer. Don't leave any valuables behind!

The hike itself is beautiful but very steep and hard on the knees (I recommend hiking poles/sticks for the way down). It's got to be more than 16 km to summit MacFarlane as 16 km out and back is just to Upper Pierce Lake. We went straight to Upper Pierce Lake - took 4 hours up and 3 hours down. Didn't have enough time to do MacFarlane on the same day. It was very cold at the top despite it being very hot and muggy for most of the way up - bring layers and lots of water!

We really enjoyed this trail. Scramble at the end was trying but for the rest it was scenic and peaceful.

Amazing hike today from Chilliwack Lake day use to Radium Lake. 20Km round trip. Tons of flora and fauna, fungi, meadows, berries, and mud. The black flies came out in the afternoon but otherwise no bugs.

The lake may not be the nicest you’ve seen but the journey is worth it. If you have a machete, bring it and use it. As stated in other reviews some areas are very overgrown. You have some very boggy marshy area so make sure to wear high ankle waterproof boots. You go through an impressive patch of nettles and devils claw that is very, very overgrown.

Lots of log bridges, creeks and streams, gorgeous meadows and camp pads and a bathroom at Radium.

This is great hike and is worth the view. But the beginning has a lot of roots, so be careful. It is steep for most of the way. There are two major scrambles. It can be very hard for someone who is scared of heights. I would recommend good foot ware. The walk down can be a bit much for someone with bad knees. Plus this hike should be rated as hard.

Just did this hike yesterday, August 5th. We spent a total of 5 hours to complete the hike including an hour at the top, and stopping every few minutes to enjoy the views.

I would recommend accounting for an extra 1.5 hours for the drive to and back from the trailhead. The drive isnt super bad, any 4x4 pickup truck or a jeep would do.

Views and the hike is worth all the effort.
