Weather didn’t cooperate and we missed the views

The name is incorrect. It’s the Morden Colliery Historic Provincial Park.

A good winter hike. only small patches of snow on the flat valley bottom portion of the trail. lots of hikers. Moderate hike easy walking but a good distance 17km from parking lot.

Beautiful hike and every looking point was stunning. I did this hike mid Jan 2019, no snow or ice but lots of trees had been up rooted which took out parts of the path. It's a good hike up though, great exercise. Views are worth it.

great trail I would suggest doing the two optional river trails along the route. Quite muddy but no need for gum boots. awesome for dogs as well.

South side accent is very steep and difficult. North side is not near as steep.

This hike is rated as moderate, that is inaccurate. This is a hard , quite challenging hike. There is probably close to 1 full km of scramble to get to the top. I would definitely rate as hard.

that was a fun hike!

that was a bit of a grind hike!!!

Great trail, well maintained and lots of different path options. Shady and sunny spots.

loved it ! my dog did too, it's fairly uneven ground so we are both pooped. best part is there's no frigging stairs. definitely will be coming back!

I did this trail on Sunday with friends. Several sections of the blue trail are closed for active logging and it is not possible to get to the viewpoint. If you are looking for views, perhaps try a different park.

Nice fall hike. Great trail and amazing mushroom species, but the lake itself isn’t that great.

Great hike but only saw 3 of the 10 views

Did this hike last weekend and we were the first ones to hike all the way to the top in the new snow fall. Really soft and deep snow from second lake

Great trail to quite a nice view. 3-4 creek crossings to mind your footing over. Other than that quite wet and snow at the top for the last 1km or so. Managed without crampons or snowshoes though.

This trail is stunning! You’re constantly popping up on beautiful viewpoints of sooke and all the different ones are so amazing! The trail is well marked only in sections, there are a few places I really had to refer to this app to follow the trail as suddenly you won’t see a trail marker anywhere. Keep your eyes peeled for the faded little tapes in the trees and be aware of your direction in this hike =]

Relatively easy....if youre in decent shape. Lots of stairs and lots of people. Would do it again first thing in the morning. Viewpoint spectacular.Wish Kayla

Beautiful day, getting near the flats, it was snow covered. Going beyond would require snowshoes or microspikes.

Great workout. Trail was in good shape. Fitbit claims equal to 140 flights of stairs

Hills, trees, rivers and groomed jumps wind through this moderate to easy series of loops. It’s only lightly trafficked, despite being in suburbia. I really hope it’s not destroyed for houses any time soon. The construction at the beginning suggests it may not have much longer to live.

Jan 14, 2019 - Packed Snow - 2 hours 10 minutes Up & 1 hour 45 minutes Down - Recommend Snowshoes - Not an intense trail, gradual consistent grade. Great views at the top.

My first time and it was great! Earlier the morning is great and the parking lot is not full.

needs to have better signs showing where you are and paths. We got lost.

Excellent trail. Well maintained. Some inclines on both sides of the river. Reasonably well signposted, easy to find trailheads at multiple points.

As of Jan 2019, detour route in effect, using Station View Trail.

Very nice hike. Did it around June 27th 2018. I would do it again. Good weather, Good for beginners. If you looking for a special view this is it. If you go to the left on the beach you’ll find half of a cave, and along the wall there might be some rock stacks. Good outing.
