Beautiful rocky trail. Family fun trail.

Not a good time to go. The mosquitos were horrible. Some trails were covered with fallen trees. We had to do quite a bit of bushwhacking. There’s outhouses beyond the parking lot.... but they are disgusting.

Petite trail, se fait en 20 minutes

Interessant de voir les grands cèdres et de lire sur les affiches l'histoire de ceux-ci

Stunning views of peaks!!! I came across wild flowers, lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and may even hear and see small avalanches. My most favorite hike in Banff and Yoho Park. It opens first week of July. If you could not reserve the bus ride it’s worth to walk the distance!

Super short but kids love to be around such big trees! Very pretty and well maintained stroll :)

Beautiful short hike. Only takes 30 minutes. Lots of spots to cut of and go do other hikes to different lakes and some waterfalls.

Easy peasy but beautiful.

Looks like it may have been nice a few years ago. Trail #3 is fairly overgrown. Trail #1 and 2 are open, but not much for sight seeing other than forestry views.

Lovely trail. We hiked to the Niles Ampitheatre and did not see a single other person on the trail (September). Very nice scenery along the whole hike starting with the beautiful Sherbrooke Lake and then the gorgeous waterfalls. I thought the falls were prettier than Wapta and Takakkaw but you have them all to your self which makes it so much better. Lovely meadow section with mountain views. Pretty hard to beat the scenery and the trail is fairly easy. A few creeks you need to hop across and some less than ideal bridges to cross (broken logs etc) and some precarious steep sections but just take your time and be careful and it will add to the adventure.

Petite rando pas trop fréquentée

Rushing river, short walk, perfect place to stop on a rock for lunch and listen to the roaring river. nice bridge crossing views. contemplate the confluence.

Short but a lot of unusually beautiful forest views. The handrail was a kind touch on the steeper step down.

great shady trail. well built wooden staircases and boardwalks keep us from trampling the lush and delicate natural beauty on this trail.

Très belle ballade vers un superbe lac émeraude via un chemin ravissant sous les arbres et bordé de fleurs. Personne à l'arrivée, impression d'être seuls au monde dans cette beauté sauvage !

You need to reserve it in advance .

In order transit the Lake O'Hara fireroad, you need to either:1) walk it (11-13km one way) or 2) make a reservation on the shuttle bus prior to the hike.

Another option is to book a stay at the Lake O'Hara Lodge: http://www.lakeohara.com/

Road in is still closed (scheduled to open mid June). Ended up hiking the 22km return trip from the parking lot into the lake. 440m climb is gradual for the first 7km then steeper the rest of the way in. Lake is still a little frozen in the middle but should be open in a couple of days. I'll definitely return when the road is open and hike the trail.

Still had snow and ice on the lake in early June, but it is possible to get there. Parking area currently unmarked because of road construction. Spectacular.

This was our 1st hike of the 2 week Yoho National Park trip. The trailhead was right behind the lodge we were staying at, right next to Wapta Lake.

if you love big Cedars and rain forests like I do, you'll definitely want to make this stop between Glacier National Park, CA. and Revelstoke. It is very similar to the 'Trail of Cedars' in Glacier National Park, in the U.S.
