Absolutely fantastic views from the top! Made the decision to go to the peak on a whim and definitely didn’t regret it. We saw a lynx as we were moving out of the trees towards the rock trail which absolutely made our day! Saw a couple male mountain goats as well but no bears thankfully.

Love loved this hike! The false peak got me- despite the reviews. A great afternoon adventure that will leave you rewarded with awesome views. Not crowded at all. We came down around the mountain and caught up with the trail at the bottom of the scramble but both seem doable.

I hiked (attempted to hike) this trail yesterday but only made it about 3/4 of the way before turning back. The trail up to the lake is decent with minimal snow. However, once I started up the trail to the ridge I soon realized the snow was way too loose & I definitely fell through to my waist a few times. I followed some old boot tracks up the ridge before I finally gave up and decided it wasn’t worth falling through a crevasse. Great hike though, definitely a workout! Go prepared & stay off the ridge for now

Did it couple days ago, still quite snowy. The road is closed and some bridges are removed in the area, but you can do this walk. Up to the lake and viewpoint (nice views!) is quite duable with regard to the snow, but we returned here because the snow thereafter got too deep.

Stunning views of peaks!!! I came across wild flowers, lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and may even hear and see small avalanches. My most favorite hike in Banff and Yoho Park. It opens first week of July. If you could not reserve the bus ride it’s worth to walk the distance!

Beautiful hike! Hiked this when moderately out of shape and was quite tough but well worth the view. Recommended you hike clockwise as the last 2 hours are intense with brutal switchbacks that are best done on the decent.

Used this as approach to scramble up Mount Daly in August 2017. Made for a long 14 hour day but after three years of hiking in the Bow Valley, this is probably my favourite approach hike of all time. Will likely do this again this year to bag Mount Niles

Beautiful short hike. Only takes 30 minutes. Lots of spots to cut of and go do other hikes to different lakes and some waterfalls.

Looks like it may have been nice a few years ago. Trail #3 is fairly overgrown. Trail #1 and 2 are open, but not much for sight seeing other than forestry views.

Nice and steep but not the best view

Beautiful hike on Sept 24th with great sunny sky. Hiked clockwise with stunning views of the aqua blue lake and rocky snowy peaks all around. After tracking past the lake the hike took us past rocky river bed until we started the ascent. Wonderful views of the waterfall towards the left. Once we started on the second part of triangle the views were spectacular and path took us past rocky cliffs. Saw about a dozen mountain goats grazing. Once past the peak on the third leg of the hike the switchbacks down were never ending...but beautiful. We have hiked all over the US and Canada and this hike was in our top three ever. Would do again.

this hike is accessed through Emerald Lake. it's around 2km from the parking lot to the trail head. this hike is hard. we did 11 km to reach the ridge and there was almost 50 switchbacks! you're in the trees the whole time so there's not much for scenery. steady incline the whole time and a fair amount of elevation gain. once you get to the ridge, the views are pretty nice but not spectacular. this hike in my opinion is more to test your stamina, not for awe inspiring photos. in total the hike took us around 7 hours return with a few breaks. bring lots of water. The trail loops back around the lake but it's another 12km or so we were told and you will end up on the far side of the lake. adds a lot more time so we went back the way we came. I'd say this hike is hard and will definitely test your ability to keep going.

Very nice simple trail near the River. Wenn saw one Black Bear.

Lovely trail. We hiked to the Niles Ampitheatre and did not see a single other person on the trail (September). Very nice scenery along the whole hike starting with the beautiful Sherbrooke Lake and then the gorgeous waterfalls. I thought the falls were prettier than Wapta and Takakkaw but you have them all to your self which makes it so much better. Lovely meadow section with mountain views. Pretty hard to beat the scenery and the trail is fairly easy. A few creeks you need to hop across and some less than ideal bridges to cross (broken logs etc) and some precarious steep sections but just take your time and be careful and it will add to the adventure.

We hiked it a couple days ago. Saw deer and Mtn goats. Brutal switchbacks for last 2 hours, stopped at Yoho lake for lunch. 8 hour hike, must be tough.

Superbe montée alpine se terminant au glacier. Superbe vue du sommet Perley Rock.

The hike was really amazing with great views. There was a little bit of everything which made the hike really enjoyable. We made it nearly to the top but had to turn back as it was really rocky and didn't want to risk it with my dog. If you are going to climb up to the top it is really steep and loose shale, trekking poles are highly recommended.

Lots of steep climbs. Challenging, but worth the effort.

A moderately challenging hike with persistent elevation gain. Take your time and drink in the scenery! The trail leads through gorgeous forest and is well maintained, but vegetation becomes quite sparse as you ascend: remember to bring sunscreen.

Visitors arriving to the viewing area will be met with jaw-dropping panoramic vistas across the valley floor, as well as the dramatic mountain peaks surrounding.

If you have the energy and agility, scramble up the rocks beyond the lookout hut and journey upwards to the edge of the tree line.

Highly enjoyable, a "must-do" if you are in the area!

Short but a lot of unusually beautiful forest views. The handrail was a kind touch on the steeper step down.

Tough climb at times near end ... especially in the heat! Great view from lookout hut!! You'll feel quite rewarded for putting in the effort to this moderate (nearly difficult) hike.
