challenging and scenic. Felt unique with multiple portions creating different experiences the whole way up! one long stretch for a good solid run, otherwise you're doing some good climbing! the view is worth it on a clear day..bring some binoculars!

Was awesome! Trail changes quite a bit, it was raining and muddy but still a great time. The first half is all downhill, and you don’t realize how steep it is until you come back up ! Stopped by a few waterfalls on the way back as well.

Wouldn't call it an easy hike as it is a lot of vertical steps and scrambles. Very pretty coloured foliage, great scenery and view points. When coming up from the golf course, you'll be on the dirt road that will at some point fork and you are going to stick to the left low road instead of doing what I did. Beautiful road that it was, it was way off and I had to turn around, take pictures of the spectacular view (uploaded), and rejoin the main road. It would be nice to know what is up there (I should have gone since I was already in deep - oh, well). On the actual BO trail there are markers all over that indicate where to go. it may seem unclear at the first scramble but follow the pink worn out rocks and looks for arrows. You will know when you're at the end because you have an unobstructed view on the valley. You're right out on that face of the majestic rock you looked up at on your way in. Go you!

great view at the top

Did the trail via Glade. The FSR is rough. The trail is quite dense/ dark with lack of any sort of greenery. Very little of the trail actually runs along the river. Missed the waterfalls somehow... Wouldn’t do it again. Good if you have little kids as it’s very easy.

I think I went the wrong way... no waterfall but great views!

Great hike, wanted to get to the waterfall but somehow completely missed it, we missed a path somewhere. Will try again another day.

there is no waterfalls

Nice trail to the waterfall. All the uphill is in the shade so bonus! Waterfall is gorgeous even when it’s had time to start to dry up.

Beautiful hike.

Great little hike! Super easy to do. It’s mostly downhill on the way there which means it’s uphill going back but worth the views and the nature! If you hike to the waterfall it is super lovely and I’d love to spend more time when I have more daylight left. I’ll definitely be doing it again soon!

Did this trail via Glade and saw old cougar scat a few times on the way to the falls, on the hike back we saw a large cougar despite regularly talking and making noise. When it saw us it ran off which is great, but just a heads up that it is definitely in the area. The trail itself was nice enough and we loved the falls!

beautiful hike. lots of switchbacks which makes it more intense even though its deemed an easy hike. great work out. few benches to stop along the way and 2 at the top. will most def revisit and do again.

This is a great trail. It's short enough for a quick hike, with a good view! It's a popular running trail too. It is an incline once you start on the actual path, but to get to it you can park outside the golf course gates and walk in on the dirt road, or if you're certain the course will still be open on your way back out you can drive down the dirt road. You can hike up to one, or both view points and come back down the way you came up, or loop around the back (Elk cutoff). The backside is shady, so there's a risk for snow in the early season as well as the dirt road leading to the trail.

I love this trail. It's a good grind with an amazing view at the halfway bench, and an even better one at the top. It's notorious for ticks so be mindful of that, otherwise enjoy the climb! The backside of the trail, from the halfway point to the top is shady so if you're itching to hike fresh into spring, keep in mind it will likely still have snow on that portion. The face of this mountain is also popular for climbers, but again, do thorough tick checks!

A good one to start the season, not too challenging and ends with a waterfall! Trail is maintained very well. If you’re looking for something more challenging afterwards you can always head up to brilliant overlook and do that one as well.

I would definitely recommend this trail... been there with my forestry section from Selkirk college, just watch out for slippery sections and go there preferably in the summer for a swim maybe:)

Nice views of Castlegar from the top, probably would have been more scenic had there been less smoke. Some of the trail is a wide 4x4 road, which wasn’t as enjoyable as the trail through the trees.
