Not strenuous, but an absolute stunner. Combination on old cedar forest, stream valleys and the finale at schooner cove beach. All in 2km roundtrip.

We had a wonderful hike on this trail. It is short and well kept. On our way back we saw a young female black bear with a cub. Of course that was special! Nature here is just amazing!

Walk through beautiful moss covered forest down to gorgeous beach. All along wooden boardwalks / steps.

Awesome trail and well worth the cost of the water taxi. The hike up to Love Lake is pretty strenuous but offer some amazing views of Della Falls and the lake feeding it. Highly recommend jumping in Love Lake for a swim after the challenging hike up.

A “must do” if visiting Tofino. Lots of stairs and a narrow wooden pathway. Not for anyone who struggles physically

This trail was AWESOME. I was skeptical about it being a little much for my wife hiking with our little one in a carrier but the trail was not sketchy at all. Boardwalk the entire way through the rainforest, to then opening up to a gorgeous stretch of pacific beach. I think we just lucked out with timing because the tide seemed low so we were able to hike out to one of the little islands you could tell is surrounded by water when the tide is in. But even if you were to hike this trail during high tide you are totally safe on the trail itself. Just don’t wander too far on to the beach at the end, that’s where you need to be considerate of tide danger.

great trip. recommend a side trip to love lake, best views of the hike. check out trail reports before leaving, heavy snow damage to stairs.

Beautiful

Short, easy trial with different landscapes and interest trees.

Boards were frosty and slick on a December afternoon, even though it was fairly warm and sunny. Very interesting place but no educational signage or pamphlets. I wouldn't recommend this as wheelchair accessible as some of the boards are broken and the boardwalk is uneven in places.

Encore un endroit magnifique....nous avons prolongé la ballade côté ouest, là, il n'y avait plus personne

Relative to other trails/walks in Pacific Rim National Park, this trail is not as exciting, the beaches you visit are nice and secluded though (Kwistis and South Beach). The South beach trail itself only goes as far as it's namesake beach the connecting trail to Florencia Bay is actually the Nuu-Chah Nulth trail.

Very nice short trail. Interesting landscape, like walking through a Dr. Seuss book.

It was a good trail through a forest with lots of shades of green then opens up to a great coast beach with good sized waves!

short but sweet hike takes you on a short excursion through stereotypical coastal rain forest and delivers you onto a classic west coast beach which stretch for kilometers. kid friendly. boardwalk and stairs.

Getting to the trailhead is a bit of a pain but the hike should include the trip to love lake on the opposite side of the valley.

Nice walk. Good for taking kids.

Easy trail, all of which is structured by wood trail sections and stairs marked every 100 meters with an oval metal marker giving you the distance travelled from the parking lot. The beach is similar to other area beaches. When I arrived we could smell a fishy odour that we could not attribute to anything we could recognize. On the beach you walk along a First Nation community houses. On the beach we observed litterings of plastic bottle caps and other small items most likely left by visitors of the area. Shame! Please don't litter and take back what you brought along. The hike is pleasant and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The Kwisitis visitor center and Wickanish beach are in this area. The visitor center has many informative exhibits and clean restrooms. Parking costs about 20 cad for a family. The beach is great for a walk and you can see ball seaweed washed up on the beach.

First 10k is pretty easy, most of the elevation is towards the end. Highly recommend to take an extra day to do the Love Lake trail before the falls base camp. The views are well worth the 800m climb off a steep trail. Don't slip! :)
