Easy to access but there is no formal trailhead so parking is just off the side of the road. The trail is well laid out and offers links to other trails. Beautiful little lake. I was glad to have the fully paid app as I wandered onto another trail and needed to rely on the app to gat back on track.

This is definitely a grind, it’s not too long of a hike, but it can be tough if you’re not use to going straight up, but it’s worth to try at least once. Pretty view of farm lands. The parking is next to the Abby gun range off exit #3.

Really liked this trail. It was a good workout to the lake. Had our friends dog with us and only encounter hikers on our way up to the lake. We were at the lake alone. A great hike and very well marked.

1st time doing the trail, good workout and not as hard as The Grouse Grind.

Did this trail today. Found the trail easily marked and easy to follow. The trail itself was easy to navigate and the elevation grew slowly enough to be an easy hike. Three 6 year olds and a 4 year old managed the climb, and two kids made it in back carriers (the back carriers are convenient, but beware of trail obstacles you may need to crawl under af times). .

Mosquitos were bad at the lake, and the lake wasnt clear for swimming at all (my dog stuuuuunk after his dip). Was a bit disheartened by the number of off-leash dogs we encountered as well as owners not picking up after their pets.

My garmin logged well over the 9kms (closer to 13 to the lake).

Would do again. The views of the valley between the trees are gorgeous.

Did this hike today. Was feeling good so I went on around Lake Chadsey and on up to the Sumas summit. I ended up logging 9.6miles (15.45km). About 3000 feet (914m) in elevation climbed. This was all according to the Garmin watch. I stopped at the lake which was empty for a rest and foot soak. This was a beautiful hike. All in all it took 4 hours at a fairly strong pace. I would plan for 4 hours to get to the lake and back. Canada is beautiful!

always fun but dusty

It’s a really good hike...short but a good workout!!!!

Great trail, love the incline. Soft dirt and dryness in the summer make for a dirty climb- wear pants- not shorts. Did the hike in just over an hour with a 50lb kid on the back and a 6 year old hiking (and a golden retriever). Good city view when the sky is clear.

Great workout

Great hike to get some elevation training. Super dusty which made it a little unstable and difficult to run but otherwise quite enjoyable.

Trail was beautiful and very rustic. Lake was empty and had the place to ourselves. Was lovely but not an amazing view and little views throughout the hike.

This is an amazing trail for a great workout.. especially running down the trail. Best to go early in the morning before the traffic gets too busy. My dog loves it too!

Nice hike that gets your heart rate up fast.. and it's not that far outside Chilliwack

Did this today via lower sumas, big black bear on xcelerator route, so we turned around. Be cautious.

There was a bear on the trail approx. 1.5 hours into the trail along the xcelerator route. . Big black bear be cautious if you're doing this trail.

Nice well marked trail under the canopy. No great views but enjoyable. Overgrown in areas. Our gps had it closer to 12km.

Great hike. Done with husband and 9 & 11 year old kids. About 2.5 hours round trip from lowest access point. Beautiful, swimmable lake. Lots of overgrowth...wear pants and long sleeves if it bugs you. The trail gets confusing at points; follow orange "reflecters" on trees rather than tape imo. Gets quite steep at points- be careful with loose soil and rocks on the way down. First time; we would definately do it again!

Nice hike, the viewpoints are a bit out of the way though.

I did the Abby grind in 53 minutes and 41 seconds today

Good cardio work out for sure. Proper footwear a must and wear bug spray (black flies) if you plan to stop and rest. Nice view at the top!

My favourite local hike! Not too hard, good views if you go beyond the lake up to the top!

July 15, 2018- There is a steep incline from the beginning and it never ends lol. Wear proper footwear and bring poles if you have them. We ended up using big sticks on the way down because it’s hella hard to not slip due to the sheer steepness. It’s a great workout, covered by trees most of the way, so you shouldn’t burn. We did get bitten by mosquitoes so I’d recommend applying bug spray.

Very nice view at the top and a small clearing to sit for a bit. I’m in decent shape and found this to be a great workout for my legs lol. Didn’t run into any bears. I would NOT recommend this hike when it’s been raining because there’s a high chance you will slip and fall. Prepare to get really dusty as dirt gets kicked up with almost every step. Our little dog was white when we left and brown when we returned LOL. Oh, and bring water!!

Great hike, just over 9km from the lower parking lot. Took just over 2 hours round trip. Path is starting to get overgrowth in some areas.

Great trail, great hike. Awesome for a good cardio if you’re into that or take it as a slow-pace nature hike with the kids. Could build some steps on some of the muddy spots but that’s part of the challenge. At par if not better than the over-hype grouse grind.

Close to home - quick up and down. If it’s been raining it’s always super muddy.

Good morning walk
