we did this hike October 23, the trail was 90 percent covered with snow, but it was great otherwise. the hike felt short and the view was extremely well worth it. You really should beware of the drive through Cadomin from Hinton however.... it was mostly rough gravel roads. no service really. make sure you have a reliable vehicle and stay out of the way of all the miner vehicles. but still worth it.

You can never loose with the Athabasca by your side!

has a great visitor center!!!!

A nice and easy hike in both the summer and winter.

Great hike once you get closer to the canyon itself. Because the path is illegally traversed by quads and side by sides, it makes the path terrible for mountain biking. Still a great hike though!

Trail head at each end of this, one on cold creek road, the other at the Gregg River Day Use Area. It's about 16km one way. Park at the cold creek road, there is a little pull out and a very faded (and vandalized) sign with a big horn sheep on it, and a little further down is a map (also vandalized).

A nice forest walk at first approaching the various scrambles to the ridge and the first viewpoint. I have only ever gone to 6km marker and turned around but I enjoy the hike, the view is great, and there is a ton of fungi and wild flowers to see along the way.

I always see a ton of cougar sign along this trail, not always the same place. I have my dog with me all the time so we've never seen one here, but it's something to be aware of especially if you're by yourself.

A fast and easy hike for an amazing payoff. Rough gravel roads to get in to the lookout (a truck or suv is recommended). We took the west trail which leads through an alpine meadow at a steady incline to the summit above the tree line overlooking the whole valley! Took about an hour one way. The entire trail was rocky so sturdy hiking boots are a must.

nice easy trail. very scenic

Trail is pretty chewed up in sections from horses. There are a number of stream crossings, some of which you may want to take your boots off for. A good section of the path up to the falls now has a stream running down it so you will probably need to bushwack the final section. Great views when you get there though.

not as easy as some would make it out to be, lots of fist sized rocks on the trails and many ups and downs.

Other than that beautiful hike, crystal clear water, and plenty of space for many groups.

It was a 4 hr hike to the base of the falls, where we camped and stayed the night.
I would recommend it, there was not much elevation gain and beautiful views.
