Beautiful lake, friendly people, and most of the time I see wildlife, a nice walking trail.

Attmepted this yesterday. No snow at the trailhead but progressively more as you ascend (up to waist deep at some points!). Very cloudy so limited views, got to within 800m (300 vertical m) of the summit before turning around. Will try this again in the summer.

Love walking the dogs there. I feel safe and easy access. Great views from every angle.

Very scenic hike!

Good little day hike if you don’t mind the steep uphill. We completed it about five hours with a break at the top.
Heavy cloud and snow at the summit.

A great surprise for an afternoon hike. Fantastic views of the Athabasca valley. Up and back in just over four hours with lots of time for pictures.

Very rewarding for such a short hike. Close to the overflow campground.

This was such a fun hike! Quite challenging at times with a few scrambles along the way. Make sure you have sturdy footwear as the terrain can be misleading. The top has an amazing view, worth the steep ascent.
Make sure you take note of where you come out of the forest at the trail head. Not very well marked. But overall great trail!

Beautiful and easy accessible for water activities. I brought my paddleboard.

Great hike away from all tourists. The views are worth the hike and scrambles, unforgettable.

Completed 2018July16
Trailhead: park at the 6th bridge (not at overlander trail head!) and go up the small scramble of rock and to your LEFT. Follow this trail through the trees and it intersects with Overlander (#10). Go straight. Do not turn. The small sign is nailed to a pine. Now, if you manage to get lost somehow (it happens) remember that if you’ve come across the HUGE memorial rock at the top from the parking lot, go LEFT on that trail and it’ll intersect with the Morro Peak trailhead!!! Turn RIGHT on to Morro Peak trailhead.

The trail itself has a lot of loose rock about 2/3 of the way up. I’d recommend hiking poles for the both the ascent and decent.
The trail is marked with orange flagging tape as you ascend out of the first 1km or so and sometimes you have to really look for it!
There is a fair bit of scrambling involved, which surprised me, and it was well worth the view at the top.

*The registry is tucked into a plastic cereal-storage type container just below the cross. It could use a new one, as the lid is broken and the inside may get wet.*

Coming back down, you can easily get misguided, as we did, but we managed to find our way back onto the trail :)
Ascent: 1hr 23min
Descent: 2hrs (we took our time)
Elev gain: 635m
Trail: 2.7km
Worth it for sure!!!!

A rewarding and challenging hike! It took us an hour and forty-five minutes to get to the top and an hour and twenty minutes to get down. We had to be careful coming down.

Great hike. A bit difficult in places. Some exposure near the top. The views are amazing. Completed in 7 hours at the very slow pace.

Awesome views not to challenging just be prepared, some snacks plenty of water etc. Saw a bear cub today, had no idea where momma bear was. So potentially bring bear spray. Spotted about to hours in from the most northernly entrance.

nice easy walk lovely views

We did the loop this morning and it was a wonderful way to start the day. The water was very calm and made for beautiful photos. The trail is paved the entire way so it's very accessible. Keep an eye out for elk, we saw one on our drive in!

It’s definitely an expert hike! Make sure you’ve got good footwear and possibly some hiking poles for the steep descent, definitely very helpful! Bug spray is a good one, we went on an overcast day and we were swarmed the higher we got. Beautiful views and definitely worth the 3-4 hike( in ).Make sure you make note of where you come out of the Forrest and begin your ascent, we lost the trail back through the Forrest and ended up getting lost on a big for longer then we’d like to admit.

Beautiful and challenging short little trail, but definitely longer than 3 miles round trip, closer to 5 I believe after tracking it on my phone

Amazing view, a few loose rocks on the trail so be careful coming down. The trail is the smaller path on the left and then once you reach a fork in the road take the right trail and then you’ll see a wooden sign with “Morro Peak” on it then just keep following that trail and you’ll make it.

Difficult to find the trailhead in the springtime/ when waters at the base are higher. Moderate to the treeline then difficult to the top.

Hiked up on April 25 conditions are interesting to say the least. Snow and ice throughout trail would wait another month before doing it to make sure the snow is gone. Have done the hike during October and it was amazing. Worth it for the views

One of my favourites! Very well marked. We went in November...we didn’t have spikes on our Hikers, but I don’t think it would be a bad idea! The view is beautiful from all every direction!

Long slog up the ridge with rewarding views. One moderate section of scrambling at the crux with no real exposure just loose rock. No water past the swamp/pond at beginning of scramble.

there's no real path for this hike but if you use the trail from this app, you'll make it all right.

It was pretty steep for 85-90% of the whole hike, but it was worth it.

great workout, great views.

Nice veiws, nice trail. Great for mountain biking as well.
