I would say this hike is worth the views! Lots of wild flowers, butterflies and birds. We spotted some deer and came across a black bear about 20m off the trail- no problems. It is not an easy hike- definitely a lot of elevation gain- but enjoyable half a day. The loop took my bestie, two dogs and myself 3.5 hours to complete with a stop for lunch. Trail is getting worn in spots and there are lots of exposed roots and rocks- so wear appropriate footwear!

This was a wonderful spring hike with the whole family. 4 Boys age 3-11. There is some nice elevation gain at the beginning for some nice views, but nothing too strenuous. Stopped for lunch half way. No real difficulty and total moving time was about 2 hours.

Beautiful views. Finished this hike with 4 adults, 3 children under the age of 3 years old and 2 dogs. There was a bit of standing water along the path and a bit of snow but all in all, the path was in good condition (nothing unexpected for spring). We did this hike with a stroller but I would recommend a carrier for small children. The path is rocky in some areas and there are areas with tree roots, but otherwise it is pretty tame. A great day hiking trail for the family.

Today was a great day for a hike. Easy to moderate at best. Good hike for beginners.

Great trail for a fall hike. There is a new bridge put in sometime in the last year. Park at Indian Oils and go from there.

great trail to get back into shape

Nice moderate fall or spring hike. Some limited views west of the mountains. May be cattle in the area. Very similar in distance, elevation and views as Fullerton Loop.

Great hike. Harder than it looks! The approach through the woods has a lot of ups and downs, which can add a lot of time.

Lovely views and a tough, but not impossible summit.

Really enjoyable hike with some beautiful views. The trail has some marked signs, but no sign on the road so it is difficult to find at first. Go west 1.6 km from the Sandy McNabb recreation area and you'll see a pull out area on the right for you to park. The trial starts off from there.

Awesome climbs, and amazing views from the top

love coming out here

It was about 7km, however there are different routes. Lovely gentle climb, just a generally nice hike without it being too taxing. Kids (5&7) loved the flowers. We didn't see any other hikers, only a few riders.

This trail is so pretty. Great views of the mountains in the heart of the foothills. The overview of this trail says its primarily used for walking but its not! Horses own these trails. If you visit Sandy McNabb you will see groups of people and their beautiful horses. Its an awesome trail and longer than 1.1 miles. I believe my garmin clocked 4.75 miles.

I rode this trail about 5 years ago and I loved it. some really nice double and single track going up and down through the woods culminating in a awesome long rough fire road climb to some incredible views. Loved the long climb, was going to go down the south side from the summit but time was getting on and it looked like there was a good possibility of getting lost. I would for sure do this again as I love the suffering of a long low gear climb.
