Absolutely amazing for a family friendly hike. Definitely go to the upper falls to see the many levels of the waterfall. Spectacular! We had gone first week of Sep and it was great weather. Had a bunch of boys and 3 toddlers within the group and they all managed to walk to the lower and upper falls although it can be challenging for little legs for sure.

Steep walk for the first 20 minutes but totally worth it and easy the rest of the way. Very rewarding the whole time. Every part is super beautiful.

Easy hike, worth the walk and beautiful sights.
We did the Troll Falls (you can climb up to the water fall) and also the Upper falls hike (although it is not currently maintained, it is very safe to do).
When you get to the parking in the trail head, make sure you make a left to the woods immediately or you will end up walking several miles in the Stoney Trail.

Fun easy hike! great with kids! climb up and over falls to see more!

It was raining and starting to slick up so we didn’t go past the first falls. But what a great walk with kids on a cold and rainy Saturday.

Great hike. Easy to do, fun to explore. Great pay off. I definitely suggest continuing past the first falls. You can go in behind the upper falls and it has spectacular views. Not sure if there is a direct path but we wound up doing some unintentional rock climbing to get up there. Well worth it.

Very easy walk. Quite short. Pretty falls at the end.

A bit of wayfinding is required and it’s a long trail but checking out all three lakes is well worth the effort.

Very easy hike- great for a family with small kids!

Reached the peak and returned along the same route. Weather was questionable, so I didn’t want to risk returning on a route I wasn’t familiar with. Also I heard there are difficult down climbs that wouldn’t be fun in the rain/snow. HOWEVER... it turned out to be a great day for hiking.

Easy walk- I wouldn’t even call it a hike. I think anyone could do it. Nice forest views and the waterfall at the end was pretty. It’s a trail I would go running on.

great for kids easy hike dogs love do it again soon for sure

Definitely an easy hike, not moderate. I wouldn’t even call it a hike really, more like a stroll in the woods. We did the Upper Falls which was beautiful and more of an actual hike with a bit of an incline. It was only 15 minutes from Troll Falls at a slow pace. Took us about 2 hours of moving to do the trail but it was at a slow pace.

Excellent short hike for kids. Even saw a person with a motorized wheelchair at the lower falls. We decided to go the extra bit to the Upper Falls.

Took our 19 month old on this trail and he had a blast throwing rocks into the water! Got here at 2 PM and parking wasn’t an issue. We tried to go to the upper falls but got a bit tricky as our son was tired of the baby carrier!

Excellent family hike. My kids really enjoyed this one. Well worth it to keep going past the first waterfall and seeing the next few. The kids really liked the one you can go behind

Great start from the village, we only went as far as Mount Kidd RV park and had to turn back due to timing. Nice grade, curves, and scenery. As a beginner rider I found this trail just challenging enough but not too exerting. The descent from the village is nice, the climb back up would need to be walked by some.

I've been here twice to train my kids, lol, the firts did it when she was 4.5yo and she was a terrible walker... this was in summer; then i did it with my 3yo closer to spring, and she was not tired at all, the snow was pretty compact and she gkt ridnof her snowshoes... perfect beginner scenary with a rewarding fall, we actually liked it better in winter, kids though it was the best slide they had ever seen and played lol!

The signage as to which trail is which could be better.
Overall very nice walk, the falls are so refreshing; plus, the dog enjoyed splashing/drinking in the shallow parts.
If you take the Hay Meadows/Stoney Trail up to Troll Falls there’s pretty little stroll beside the the Riveruu where you can spot some cool birds.

Very rewarding easy hike. Did it as a family with our 4 kids. Great waterfalls all the way along to on the upper falls trail as well.

This was one of my first scrambles, absolutely loved it. We had to bush wack through the trees in summer 2017 to get to the peak, be aware of where you exit the trees to the scramble so that you can eventually find the path again (we were not that smart and got lost briefly in the forest). The views from the top of Midnight Peak were incredible, I’d love to do it again.

Have done this hike a number of times - once in the winter and of course different times in the summer/fall. Have been up past the first set to the waterfalls in behind - though yesterday’s was just to the first set. I’m sure this is one we will do time and time again when we want an easy hike with the reward of a waterfall at the end!

Beautiful hike. I did this trail in May 2017 with my 2 year old son. Beautiful mountains surrounding you as you enter the beginnings of the actual mountain you are about to hike. Glorious waterfall, that gives off a refreshing mist. Historical rock beside the waterfall that looks like a troll (I'm guessing that's why it's named troll falls?) anyways! it was great . wouldn't say it's as easy with a little kid by your side but it's still worth it! so much fun!
