Hiking today ! Gorgeous views! Steady climb!

Absolutely beautiful single track trails! Fairly gradual elevation gain and a real joy to run!

Great hike, but the Bragging Rights Trail is not well marked and was confusing to know where to loop back down.

Great views pretty easy trail but is very rocky the hole way. About 4km from elbow lake there is a small man made Inuksuk on the left if you fallow that into the bush on the left it comes out to a beautiful water fall definitely worth the hike !

This trail was a great hike through the woods culminating with some nice views at the top. Will hike it again soon!

This was a nice brisk traverse, not steep but long inclines as well but as above so below. Long steady declines. Beautiful hike even took my 2 year old with me though not cranky but wanted alot of shoulder rides up hill. Yup an extra 40#'s on my shoulders made for a great workout.

Oh although about 50 cars in the lot, we never seen anybody on the trails. So peaceful. Definitely recommend if you'd like a moderate - brisk peaceful walk in beauty.

Trails are well marked.

Great trail and followed advice to take White Tail for first section up which was quite easy going.. A really decent challenge for new MTBers and a great rest point at Merlin’s Chair..

Hiked this the other day with my kids. Easy, beautiful Hike. Pack a lunch and enjoy the lake when you get there. Campsite where clean, well taken care of.

Great loop! Nice and flowy! I do this once a week on a weekday morning (Zero crowds at this time). The trail is getting pretty rocky and rooted right now from people riding it in wet conditions. The downhill part of Merlin’s is in great condition. Took 1h10m with a few breaks.

Great trail. Took us 4 hours to complete with a 20
Minute stop for lunch. You have to pay attention on the backside of Merlin as the bikers come down quick so you’ll need to be ready to move.

Simple review here. Absolutely beautiful spot. Great backcountry camping spots. Outhouses were clean. Lake is beautiful and fishing was great. Not the biggest fish but they bite like mosquitos. Follow @Thebackcountrycamper on Instagram

Very busy trail but a fantastic Mountain biking loop.

I did this as part of a 30k trail run loop yesterday, continuing on Moose Packers and Ridgeback then back across Elbow. it was a nice way to get in a bit of elevation without feeling like you're climbing super hard, nice and windy thru trees etc. Some tougher technical spots near the top where it was so rocky it wasn't runnable for me.
I would give the full loop a 4 or 5 star just for trail run enjoyment and for percent of runnable segments, but the Pneuma segment just a 3 start or so. Having said that, I'll definitely come back to it.

Awesome hike. Beautiful scenery from start to finish.

Hiked to aster set up camp. Then skinned to Joffre the next morning. Lots of snow from the valley just past aster to the summit of Joffre June 16th

Such a fun trail to do. Ride Merlin counter clock wise for a smooth fast downhill. Very busy trail so keep you eyes open especially on Baggin Rights. But yeah, go do it!

Moose mountain is primarily Downhill Biking and this is one legend of a trail, quite a few features to ride (there are ride arounds though the entrance can be subtle) some features are closed. All in all an intermediate bike trail for the area.

I really love this Trail the beginning is a bit steep but once you get to to the lake the rest is pretty flat easily one of my favorite hikes

I did this hike the weekend after I did pocaterra ridge. They are in perfect view of each other. We did Elbow lake, Elbow pass, Tombstone pass then both the lower and upper Tombstone lakes. It was a long hike but the scenery was phenomenal.

cool place! great easy hike!

incline at the trail head was a challenging, but once you reach the lake it's worth it. And the rest of the trail to Edworthy falls and tombstone was a great hike.

very easy and accessible for anyone

My wife and I finished our week near Banff with this hike. Did 60+ miles this week. This hike was steep in two parts. The first bit to Elbow lake and the last bit from Tombstone campground to the lake are quite steep, but easy to climb (not slippery, etc). Don't miss the waterfall that is about halfway to the campground (as others have mentioned). There is a nicely made rock pile to mark the trail to it. The trail from the Tombstone campground to the lake had minimal traffic (on a Saturday), and there are portions that seem very isolated and have good bear habitat. Make noise. The lake is an amazing place. Bring your fly rod and some dry flies. The cutthroat trout were surfacing constantly while we ate lunch. Maybe the most tranquil place I visited this week.

Randomly found this little gem on a day drive of the Kananaskis Trail and walked up to Elbow Lake. Plan to return to camp here and trek further up to Tombstone. Met a couple guys on the trail with skis and a snowboard who had hiked up to the glacier to ride it down in July!!!

It was great hiking! Love it!

Always a favourite spot! Elbow Lake is beautiful and a great place to camp!

It was raining when I was there last time but still amazing. Will go again.

A friend and I and our children (5,3, and 1) only went as far as the lake. Good trek in! Will be doing again and one day make it all the way to tombstone!

Oct 18/16 -Only did the short hike to Elbow Lake. It was a bit steep going up and slippery because of the snow going down, but lead to the beautiful lake with brilliant turquoise water! Walked around the campground near the lake.
