1. Beautiful views 2. Diverse trail - some moderate sections and some hard sections (especially at the end... get ready to go uphill) 3. Our dogs loved it!! 4. Lots of mosquitos though... bring bug spray 5. Took us about 7 hours or so 6. There is a part on the hike, near the end, where you will come to a larger river and have to cross it in order to make it to the campsites. Do your best not to fall in because... it sucks! Very fast moving water and knee-deep. 7. Lots of fun and so much beauty to see!

Did there and back in one day. Ended up being a little over 40k and 12 hours with breaks. Would recommend but show up early if you plan on doing the full hike in a day.

Very enjoyable couple of hours whilst on the parkway and tremendous views of the glacier. Did this with my two sons and we spotted a rather large roving animal that we’ve deduced might of been wolverine and on rocks above the tree line. It made this hike even more interesting and distance didn’t permit any photos but the binoculars gave us a good view.

Incredible views for little work. Nice hike if you want time for other stuff in the day. Ends somewhat abruptly. Heavily trafficked. The Parker Ridge West Peak route is worth heading up to see a fossilized seabed scattered all along the top... very interesting.

Lots of fun and a great beginner overnight hike. Amazing campsites, but the put toilet was pretty nasty. Went around the lake and tried to follow the trail to the summit, but lost it a bunch of times and just ended up bushwhacking to find the trail. Eventually we found the summit. It looks a lot scarier than it actually is, and gorgeous views and cell service at the very top. We tried to follow the trail down from the summit, and once again the trail just stopped so we had to bushwhack again. The way down was really hard on the knees, especially with our overnight gear, but made good time. Took about 6 hours overall.

Great view over the valley and glacier. A good trail for all levels.

The steep part at the beginning lead to an amazing view on Saskatchewan glacier after just a short hike. A must if in the Icefield Parkway area.

Quick and easy hike. Completed in flip flops in about 20 minutes.

Short and steep hike with gradual incline. View of the glacier is stunning. Highly recommended.

This hike is short and simple. View at the canyon is mesmerizing. Sounds of water, view if the valley on one side and beauty of the canyon on the other side. Overall it’s a must do hike for a quick break after long drive.

A very short hike with beautiful falls! Hardly anyone in the trail. If you are traveling along Ice Fields Parkway definitely worth the stop.

This was a challenging but rewarding hike! Views were great the whole way. Some very steep sections that were tough on the way down. Would highly recommend if you’re not afraid of a leg burner! Made it to the top of the ridge in 2.5 hours and back in 1.5 hours (we were keeping a pretty good pace both ways).

Awesome hike. The hard rating comes from it being an uphill climb right from the get go with barely any flatter areas. Nothing technical about the hike, even the ridge summit is easy to get to. Would recommend to everyone looking to test their cardio.

Loved this hike! it was definitely a hard uphill but so worth the views and the lake. I love how you can actually have a fire once you get to the lake. If you want a fire, make sure you bring something to cut wood because it is not provided, forewarning

Did this hike this morning.Arrived around 930am and parking lot already pretty full.Trails in excellent condition. steady climb up. We tried to get to the ridge and made it to the rock outcroppings, lots of scree, i stopped and headed down and my 2 friends went a little further but had to turn back due to scree. Made it to the lake and had lunch. Disappointed to see that someone had left a fire still burning

We did this trail August 3 and we had perfect weather condition with it not being to hot or raining. I wouldn’t want to do this trail in the rain as it’s a steady climb right from the start with very few leveling out spots and no switch backs and would be super hard if wet with all the sliding rocks and roots on the trail. The trail is hard just because of the steady climb. We did it in one hours and forty minutes up and about the same down. The best views though are of Abraham lake by far so make sure to take a look behind you as you climb once you get in the clearings. The lake is okay but Abraham lake is much nicer by far. Decent outing and probably wouldn’t do it again unless camping from the lake and doing more hikes out.

The trail is definitely straight up without much reprieve. There was one sketchy part with a pretty intense exposure. If you’re afraid of heights, this section probably isn’t for you. I did not make it to the lake, because of the vertigo I got during this section (turned around). I enjoyed a really nice soak in Abraham lake after, though!

Trail was in great condition; clear path with no fallen trees. For us (day hikers) I would say this hike is "moderate" at most but can see how it could be "hard" or very challenging for those hiking in to camp. It is a steady incline the whole way but very doable. It took us 4hrs in total, 2hrs up, 20 minutes at the late and an 1hr 40 down. The lake at the top isn't too much to look at but the views on the way up and all the wild flowers were beautiful.

One of my all time favourite spots. It's right off the highway. So many people just drive right by it and miss out on this absolute gem. I haven't been up there recently but I suspect the construction around the parking area is complete by now.

Incredible hike. This is a very hard hike. (Caveat) We had the intention of camping up on the ridge for the weekend and did the climb with packs for a complete weekend and little preparation. It was very challenging. We arrived at the ridge without sufficient water (and largely too tired) to conduct a complete reconnaissance of the area to determine whether resupply was possible. We headed back down. For the future hikers, be advised that Two O’clock Creek is the last water you will hit on the way up.

A definite don’t miss for a very short hike with a great view of waterfall/creek that has cut a zigzag through the canyon.

Great hike, but its a long one with heavier packs. Trail is marked with orange and pink ribbon. There is water and campsites at multiple points on the way in, the lake itself has plenty of well made camps to stay at. Its closer to 18k each way, the last 3-4k into the lake after the junction to the lake of the falls is mostly uphill. The hike has some good hills but is manageable for anyone in good shape. Stayed 2 nights, took us 6.5 hours in 4 hours to get back. Theres small trout in the lake as well.

This is fairly easy out and back. We went in early August so there were a lot of other people on the trail, but the view from the top was absolutely worth it. If you don't have a ton of time for hiking while you're in the area, this is a great choice.
