24 degrees for the round trip, but didn’t see any buffalo today. Beautiful scenery!

Awesome hike. Have seen bison everytime on this trail. Right now its got lots of snow, puddles and slushy sections. Once it’s dried up a very good hike worth recommending.

I’ve only done this trail on snow shoes. It’s a fun quick trail that has enough small ups and downs to not be too much of a stroll. Did it with the dog on a 15 foot lead. Has some nice viewing spots.

I love this trail four seasons ... it’s challenging enough to give one a sense of accomplishment. Many nice spots for contemplation.

Did this in winter, pretty boring

Easy, scenic trail. If you're staying overnight at the Oster Lake camp, however, be prepared for bison encounters as they tend to congregate here (as evidenced by the droppings you'll find). Give them lots of space, and get in your tent when it gets dark so you don't surprise them. We were kind of stuck in our tent as they were within 10 m of us for a large portion of the night. Cool, but a little nerve wracking. Beautiful stars too.

Nice trail. Icy sections that I would recommend
Micro spikes for. All in all a nice easy hike with woods, a large field and a lake. Easy signage to follow.

I would probably have called this a 3-star except for the encounters with wild bison which were quite exciting - had to drive a herd of them in front of us to stay on the trail. Flat plains and wooded scenery without pronounced features for most of the hike, only a few other hikers out there. Time a little under 4 hours, only minor elevation changes. As others have noted, there were a few boggy patches. I saw at least one brave soul tried it in the snow - would be pretty strenuous then?!

An easy loop with Bison encounters. We had to shoo two bison off the trail to complete the loop.

this is a great beginner trail! my family and I went out last weekend and had a great time. this trail took us about an hour and our 3 yr old had no problem walking it herself. there are a few small incline and declines but generally well kept. I would recommend this trail to young families and the elderly alike.

Paved path for about 1km. Then a dirt road. Great for a quick family bike ride or family hike. Easy, dry with limited views of the lake.

Nice easy trail. Not much of a lake view once you go off the paved trail. Some ponds, but mostly in the bush. Muddy in some spots. Didn't see any wildlife, but did hear the snorting in the bush and saw the bison tracks on the trail.

Good easy trail. Interesting route with plenty to see. However, we were unlucky and did not see any beavers! A park ranger was there breaking one of the dams that was flooding the tree line so that may have had something to do with the no show! We saw lots of elk tracks on the trail, but no elk! There were loads of mini frogs which were amazing and swarms of flys/mosquitos which were most definitely not. We both had bug spray on but on the loop part of the trail the flys were relentless :( bug spray is a must. This would not stop me doing the trail again however because it really was good overall.

Nice hike, but did not see much. Only small parts of the trail allow you to see ponds and fields. We were told it was a great trail to see wildlife, but only saw lots of frogs and birds.

excellent trail. me and my wife just started doing trails.

Good walk for the kids and the grandparents. Super buggy but super pretty.

Sympa mais la majeure partie de la marche est dans la forêt, sans véritable point de vue sur les étangs

Very easy hiking. No real challenge. Nice to get a great walk in.

This hike is better than the Lake Shirley hike. More variety, with open spaces and more of a wilderness trail rather than a quad path through the woods. A herd of wood Buffalo were in the path at one open spot, so I had to wade through some tall prairie grass to get around them. That added some time making for about a 3 & 1/4 hour hike. Lots of raspberries on the trail, making me think I might see a bear. I did see a big black bear last week on the Lake Shirley hike.

Quick hike with nice scenery. So many mosquitos, so go prepared.

The trail itself was pretty good. It's mostly flat (as expected in the prairies), and my friend and I were able to complete the entire trail in about 3 hours. We saw some wildlife (deer, woodpeckers, etc.) but didn't see wood bison as we had hoped. The sun was really hot and we ended up leaving at 11, so I would recommend doing the hike before it gets very hot out or taking plenty of sunscreen and water with you. Waterproof footwear recommended, as some regions were a bit muddy. There were a LOT of mosquitoes, so ensure that you have plenty of insect repellent as well.

Fun trail quick and enjoyable.

Nice trail, flowers, lots of evidence of bison but didn't see any.

It was a fun hike with my two kids. Had to piggy back them the last half (they're 4 & 6). It took about 80 minutes.
Lots of mosquitos!!!
