The scenery and in particular the waterfalls are awesome. We hiked to the second lake and back on a beautiful July day. Saw very few people. The trail is tougher than you might think with much rock hopping. The climb up to the second lake is quite something as is the decent. Not the trail to choose for breaking in your new boots. No issues for 2WD access today.

Great little hike with great views of Patricia and Pyramid Lakes at the top and also views of Jasper. Easy with some steeper sections. Didn't see any wildlife, although a solo hiker caught a glimpse of a lynx just before us and showed us a photo of it on her phone. We did try to look for it but alas it didn't wait for us :) A nice hike if you are in the Jasper area.

Super easy and fun hike. Absolutely stunning views at the top. Definitely a new favorite of ours!

Beautiful views... BUT the effort is not worth it. There are many other hikes with just as beautiful of views, if not better to do that require a lot less effort. I’m all up for a challenge but the majority of the trail is boulders and large rocks. It was difficult to cross the boulders and slippery when wet. I would not recommend this hike and will not be returning to this hike unfortunately.

Beautiful!

Nice easy hike. We didn't walk around the entire of Lake 1 as had read that the other 4 Lakes were much nicer. Lake 5 was beautiful with a wooden dock you would could out onto.

We arrived around 12:30 and parking lot was full, but found a spot when someone left. Did the smaller loop over to 5th lake circling 2,3, and 4. Got back to the vehicle around 1:30 and 1/3 of the parking spots empty. Although lots of people there, it did not seem overly busy on the hike and it was easy to get the perfect picture without waiting for others.

Interesting hike. Pretty lake views.

It's a nice, easy hike and you can add a bit of distance by incorporating some of the longer (~35km) hike. It's a good one for kids or with companions who aren't used to hiking. The color of the lakes...so blue your friends will think that the pictures were edited.

Really enjoyed this trail. A few ups and downs in the terrain, but nothing terribly challenging. Was just the right distance for me, my wife, and our 8mo old. A few good picturesque views along the way, particularly by the first, third, fourth, and fifth lakes.

Amazing views, steep in a couple spots but overall very easy trail, lots of good spots to get some amazing shots of the turquoise blue lakes. 100% worth it to take 2 hours out of your day for.

Love this hike. It’s a good mix of difficult steep sections followed by a bit of a break as it flattens out each time you reach a lake. The lakes and waterfalls are beautiful and this hike was not very crowded for us, even on a sunny summers day. Be warned that the drive in is a bit on the wild side- low-riding cars may not make it at all and a 4x4 of some sort is probably best (you probably CAN make it in your average sedan, but you’ll have to take it really slow).

One of my favorites. Good mix of terrain and always love trails with waterfalls. Lots of places to take in the view and do some rock hopping. Never made it to the top of the large fall because I’ve gotten off to a late start (all 3 times)! One of these days!

Very nice trail with beautiful views onto Pyramid and Patricial Lake and the Athabasca valley. Some short steep climbs but overall an easy hike for almost everybody.

One of my favourite hikes so far! There is a lot of boulder hopping.

Great hike to do with the kids! Our 4, 7 and 9 year old had a great time. Stunning views of the lakes, lake 5 and 4 are good for swimming.

Nice and relaxing hike. Not very challenging (hence "only" 3 stars), but has great views! I would probably spend more time at the lake itself next time. It's very pretty.

Gorgeous emerald green lakes along this easy loop hike. The longest part is getting to the 5th lake (if you go clockwise at the loop start it goes Lake 5, 4, 3, 2, 1). Once you hit the first lake (Lake 5), they come pretty quickly. I went with my 8 year old son and it was an easy, fun hike.

Superbe promenade assez facile (je l'ai faite avec mes enfants de 4 et 6 ans). Les lacs sont somptueux

Beautiful views of blue lakes of varying shades. Red chair location between 4th and 5th lake. Easy hike, but very busy in peak season/times so go early! Wildflowers in bloom beginning in May.

Awesome trail!
Hike through the woods up to the river fed by the first lake and continue hiking lake side. This part is really beautiful and requires some technical skill to avoid getting wet since the lake was often covering parts of the trail while I was there. Keep going lakeside until you meet the first set of gorgeous waterfalls. They are massive, deafening, and inches from the trail. Worth stopping and just taking in the insane power of this set of falls. Just don't get too close! Next, Boulder hop around to the next lake and towards the next set of falls. This part was soooo fun! Jumping from rock to rock can be challenging and dangerous, but once you get a rythm, it's a blast. Before you reach the second set of falls there is a natural stone diving board available if you need to cool off in the lake. Next, the climb up to the top of the second set of falls is really steep and requires both hands, but the payoff at the top is easily worth it. That's where I stopped for lunch and headed back. Didn't have time to go to the end of the third lake as getting this far took 2.5 hrs and it was late.

After having hiked Patricia Loop, Sulphur Ridge, Valley of the Five Lakes, Old Fort Pointe, and Geraldine Lakes, so far this was by far my favourite hike. It has many challenging sections that require good ankles and balance(1.5km of boulder hopping), plus a wide variety of hiking environments. There were very few hikers on the trail which made it much more fun for me, since my friends enjoy having a trail to just themselves. Also, of the trail wasn't marked and I relied heavily on small rock piles to guide me.

5/5!

Geraldine lake 2 is beautiful. There's a lot of hopping from boulder to boulder is involved, with a good boots on, the trail is fun.

This was amazing. The first half is an old fire road and not that exciting. We mountain biked the first half to lower Fryatt campsite. From there continued on foot to headwall campsite. That's where it became spectacular. Spend 3 days if you can. One to hike to upper Fryatt campsite or headwall campsite, the next to explore above the headwall and the third to hike back. Spectacular scenery.
