Nice peak near Calgary. Not many people go there. It is a good place to go early in the season.

Great hike! Pretty easy through the trees, gradual incline to a beautiful view at the top. Awesome spot to have some lunch and lay in the sunshine for a bit, or continue wandering along the other trails from the summit.

The Arch is a highlight! Great views! A lot of exposure at the top so if that bothers you than think twice. Reason for only 4 stars.... so so many different pathways from start to finish in this hike and a lot of them go the wrong way or other part of the loop. Use a gps or be prepared for a few wrong turns.

A hidden gem with stunning views!!! Definitely on my top 5 even though it’s a super laid back trail. If you’re looking for more of a challenge hike the ridge over to Moose Mountain.

This trail will not disappoint!!!

I’d also consider this trail family friendly.

The view at the top is unreal. Loved the fields and valleys of wildflowers along the way to the top. Steady incline and switchbacks throughout! Easy rooted trail that only gets a tad rocky before the peak. Bugspray is a must, and quite shaded for the majority of your journey... I felt particularly stoked to have am extra layer at 8:30am when we started on the trailhead. It was nippley.

An awesome trail with little traffic.

Great trail, well marked,

This hike can be accessed via Powderface Trail which only opens from the month of June-November. There are 3 ways you can get to the summit by searching up the Jumpingpound Ridge trail or Jumpingpound Summit trail and plan accordingly.

This offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains. The trail up is a wide trail with gentle switchbacks, great for beginners. On the way, you will reach a grassy flat area which takes you to the base of the summit and after that is a short steep climb to the high point.

Overall, a great hike to go back due to multiple trailhead starts and connecting trails to cox hill and moose mountain (if you are prepared).

We did Tyrwhitt to Highwood— magnificent view!

The first half of this hike was fantastic, beautiful time of year to be out in the mountains. Unfortunately the conditions once we crested were extremely windy and hiking the ridge line was sketchy due to this. The way down from Pocaterra was very difficult and you need to be very aware of hikers above you sending down rocks, not for the casual hiker or faint of heart. All in all it was a great day, just be aware the the "Hard" designation is not wrong on this one.

Did it today with my sister who is a beginner hiker. Beginning is switch-backs, manageable for a beginner if you take your time. There wasn't another soul on the trail. Being just the two of us made me worry about bears in the open parts, but luckily all we saw for wildlife were some chipmunks. Great views at the top from both sides. Would recommend.
