Beautiful!

Arrived at Moraine Lake by 820 am and the parking lot was full. We were able to park on the road but 2km from the trail head. The beautiful hike made it worth while..the crowds dispersed at the trail to Sentinel Pass. The lake was a beautiful spot for lunch. Still snow on the avalanche chutes and you could hear some avalanche activity along the trail. A great day ended with breathtaking views around Moraine Lake.

Once you get past the elevation gains at the beginning, you are treated to a gorgeous lake surrounded by forest and mountains.

Easy and relaxing hike. I got to the trailhead around 8:30 AM on a Saturday. I only passed two other couples on the way up and had the lake to myself for a while. On the way back I passed lots of hikers on their way to the lake and the parking lot was full when I got back to my car. I would recommend getting an early start to beat the crowds. Also, there were quite a few muddy spots along the trail that you have to deal with, but other than that the trail is in good shape.

Easy hike but really nice views!

Amazing hike with breathtaking views. Most elevation gain happens during initial 10-11 switchbacks. Trail is pretty wooded in this switchbacks. After that there will be intersection-one goes towards Eiffel and another goes toward Sannitel pass. Then Trail goes to open area with breathtaking scenery and almost minor elevation gain. As of June 23 still about 6 snowy sections and some avalanche debris. Bring hiking poles - your knees will thank you downhill especially during switchbacks.

Hike out to Taylor Lake was a steady climb on a well trodden path through the trees the whole way. Beautiful once at the lake, a little boggy right at the lake. Continuing on to O’Brien lake was my favourite part. Still a lot of snow on the trail so had a little trail finding and boggy most of the way. Bridge across the river is broken but still pass able if you have long legs, I ended up in the river! If you have shorter legs follow the river slightly more upstream where it narrows and is passable.

Definitely makes you go “BOOM” when you see it!! Stunning view at the end!!! Not sure what the insect is called, but it looks like a little black fly, TONS of those at the lake and around it. We hiked to a spot where there was less of them.

Moraine lake is stunning from all angels. Quite an easy hike after the switchbacks, Eiffel lake was slightly underwhelming after starting at moraine lake forever..

it was ok. decently easy. lots of trees. then opens to the lake. no other views besides when you are at the lake. saw a decent number of people. lake was pretty.

Beautiful trail!

My family hiked here on May 27th. There were some slushy parts with snow and their melt making the ground pretty muddy and slushy in parts. We saw quite a few people easily doing the hike with sneakers but some nicer boots and gaiters would take away the yuck factor.

I hauled my kid up in a backpack weighing total of 50 lbs so it was a good workout and felt like uphill both ways but with a light pack it’s pretty easy.

At the end the view of Boom lake is amazing and did a nice picnic lunch on the rocks by the lake.

Fairly easy trail and worth the effort for the view at the end

Went there yesterday on May Long and overall a nice trail with gradual climb at the beginning, but still quite muddy and about half way in there began to have a good amount of snow. People walked out a slightly hard packed snow path but it is easy to step an inch or two off the path and get yourself into some knee deep snow so be prepared to bring extra socks because they will likely get wet on your way in & out.

Great hike! You can add some nice miles going to the pass west that leads to BC (don't know the name). We also went to sentinel pass on the same day, it's very realistic to do both. The trail is well marked and easy to walk, so you make miles quickly, especially once the initial uphill near moraine lake is done.

Nice trail! Did with a doggo who also enjoyed it. No signs for Boom lake if you’re coming from Radium way, look out for the turning! Did with cleats on but would probably be fine without. Nice opening at the end where the snowy frozen lake is, would be pretty sweet in the summertime!

one of the best trails ever hiked in my 68 years of life!

We took our XC skis out February 21 and there was plenty of snow. Beautiful hike in the trees until we got to the lake where it opens up to Mountain View’s. Great trail we will come again.

Feb 1st 2017 • Lots of snow, snowshoes needed. Lots of elevation gain at the beginning but well worth the work. Levels out to some amazing views!

Dec 12, 2017, need micro spikes, lots of snow at the end but still no need snow shoes due to popular trail.

Nice gentle incline the whole way. Solid path from the cross country skiers makes the walk up pretty good. Crampons not required, but the extra grip is nice to have. Up top, the trail softens up making snowshoes a requirement. I didn't make it to O'Brien as the path was unbroken and I was running out of time. Beautiful meadows, tons of larch, this spot would be beautiful in any season.

When I was resting on my towel on the beach at Taylor Lake, some shmucks set up a game of volleyball right next to me. Kicked sand all over my stuff...

Dec 2nd // Steady incline but didn't feel too gruesome. Great hike with micro-spikes for the most part, but was very happy to have snowshoes for the last while, as we sunk through the slight snow pack up to our waists. There is also a Y very close to the lake, many people went straight but the path to the left takes you to the lake.

Little snow packed the day we went, mostly forested till the end. The traffic was enough that the trail was carved out on the snow n was passable. It's a steady incline for 5 km. There is camping allowed at Taylor Lake, nothing fancy, no fires. The view at the lake is gorgeous. Our walk back turned to mud near the end, and was Thick.

Great trail that is a mixture of roughly flat and incline. Great for a variety of hiking abilities with a great sit down spot up at the lake with a couple small pick nick tables.
My recording was about 12km round trip and only 600m elevation.

5 stars because the views were great, the trail was not very busy, but we did see a handful of other people.

One word, spectacular!!!

A well maintained trail. Beautiful forested hike. The lake itself is huge and crystal clear. Very few people on this trail today making for some wonderful private views of the lake. There’s a great spot just past the rock pile that acts as a “point” and offers a panoramic view of this lake. You can really take in the grandeur of the surrounding mountains from here. A little clearing offered the perfect spot to eat lunch and play dice. Grab a coffee at Storm mountain lodge by their fireplace before your drive back to Banff or Calgary as well.

I cross country skied this trail and it is amazing. It turned dark and there was a clear sky with a full moon. As we skied across the mountain it opened up to an ice covered lake. With big fluffy snow flakes falling. It was cool but not cold as we had just finished a great workout by skiing in. We sat down and enjoyed Red delicious apples before heading back on the trail to ski out. The trail in was beautiful lined with tall Spruce and Douglas Fir and Blue Spruce all covered in white sparkly snow that glistened like diamonds. The trail goes up and down nothing too steep with long stretches of scenic beauty. ❤️
