Other than the smoke, great mix of topography and great day hike. Take time to break at lake for a snack.

Great hike!

Nice accessible hike to a great lake. Great for beginners, the trail is a bit uninteresting along the way, but the lake is worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Great hike, once you get past the 1.2 mile mark it’s relatively easy going. Great views of the ever changing moraine and seen a marmot up close too!

My family and I backpacked into Taylor Lake at the end of July. Super beautiful location, the lake is stunning!!

I wouldn’t rate this as an “easy hike”, it’s a steady climb all the way up and especially with a 40 lb pack it was moderate.

My crew made it up in about 2 hours, and rewarded with an amazing stay up there for two nights. The picnic tables made food prep and eating a breeze.

We hiked into O’Brien Lake the next day for some more fishing, always fun fishing for Cut Throat Trout.

All and all, this hike was awesome!

Awesome trail ! Lots to see, great view of the lake. Does tend to be pretty wet and muddy at some points.

Great hike. Very few folks out here today. We ate lunch at the lookout by ourselves for 1/2 hr. The view of Moraine was great and the last km offered great views of the glacial valley and Eiffel Lake.

start of our 4 day backpacking trip. nice trail. Lots of ups but doable. twin lakes are very nice.

Great family hike that included 6 adults with varying hiking experience and 6 kids ranging from 6-12. A little muddy in some spots but quite a nice trail. The lake was amazing however there were a lot of black flies closer to the water. We settled for lunch on one of the many large boulders set further back and enjoyed the scenery. It’s a little bit of a balancing act navigating close to the water as the rocks weren’t always stable. I’d do this hike again.

Great hike, a bit of a slog up but well worth it. Lots of wild flowers and beautiful lake . Picnic area has tables. Saw a bear on the way down so watch out!

Beautiful hike! Lots of switch backs with some pretty stead incline for the first 2.4 km and then the rest of the trail to Eiffel Lake is relatively flat. Breathtaking views of Moraine Lake and the mountains. Probably one of my favourite hikes!

Beautiful!

Arrived at Moraine Lake by 820 am and the parking lot was full. We were able to park on the road but 2km from the trail head. The beautiful hike made it worth while..the crowds dispersed at the trail to Sentinel Pass. The lake was a beautiful spot for lunch. Still snow on the avalanche chutes and you could hear some avalanche activity along the trail. A great day ended with breathtaking views around Moraine Lake.

Once you get past the elevation gains at the beginning, you are treated to a gorgeous lake surrounded by forest and mountains.

Easy and relaxing hike. I got to the trailhead around 8:30 AM on a Saturday. I only passed two other couples on the way up and had the lake to myself for a while. On the way back I passed lots of hikers on their way to the lake and the parking lot was full when I got back to my car. I would recommend getting an early start to beat the crowds. Also, there were quite a few muddy spots along the trail that you have to deal with, but other than that the trail is in good shape.

Easy hike but really nice views!

Amazing hike with breathtaking views. Most elevation gain happens during initial 10-11 switchbacks. Trail is pretty wooded in this switchbacks. After that there will be intersection-one goes towards Eiffel and another goes toward Sannitel pass. Then Trail goes to open area with breathtaking scenery and almost minor elevation gain. As of June 23 still about 6 snowy sections and some avalanche debris. Bring hiking poles - your knees will thank you downhill especially during switchbacks.

Hike out to Taylor Lake was a steady climb on a well trodden path through the trees the whole way. Beautiful once at the lake, a little boggy right at the lake. Continuing on to O’Brien lake was my favourite part. Still a lot of snow on the trail so had a little trail finding and boggy most of the way. Bridge across the river is broken but still pass able if you have long legs, I ended up in the river! If you have shorter legs follow the river slightly more upstream where it narrows and is passable.

Definitely makes you go “BOOM” when you see it!! Stunning view at the end!!! Not sure what the insect is called, but it looks like a little black fly, TONS of those at the lake and around it. We hiked to a spot where there was less of them.

Moraine lake is stunning from all angels. Quite an easy hike after the switchbacks, Eiffel lake was slightly underwhelming after starting at moraine lake forever..

it was ok. decently easy. lots of trees. then opens to the lake. no other views besides when you are at the lake. saw a decent number of people. lake was pretty.

My family hiked here on May 27th. There were some slushy parts with snow and their melt making the ground pretty muddy and slushy in parts. We saw quite a few people easily doing the hike with sneakers but some nicer boots and gaiters would take away the yuck factor.

I hauled my kid up in a backpack weighing total of 50 lbs so it was a good workout and felt like uphill both ways but with a light pack it’s pretty easy.

At the end the view of Boom lake is amazing and did a nice picnic lunch on the rocks by the lake.

Fairly easy trail and worth the effort for the view at the end

Went there yesterday on May Long and overall a nice trail with gradual climb at the beginning, but still quite muddy and about half way in there began to have a good amount of snow. People walked out a slightly hard packed snow path but it is easy to step an inch or two off the path and get yourself into some knee deep snow so be prepared to bring extra socks because they will likely get wet on your way in & out.

This trail is a must if you are in the area. One of the best I have ever done

Great hike! You can add some nice miles going to the pass west that leads to BC (don't know the name). We also went to sentinel pass on the same day, it's very realistic to do both. The trail is well marked and easy to walk, so you make miles quickly, especially once the initial uphill near moraine lake is done.

Nice trail! Did with a doggo who also enjoyed it. No signs for Boom lake if you’re coming from Radium way, look out for the turning! Did with cleats on but would probably be fine without. Nice opening at the end where the snowy frozen lake is, would be pretty sweet in the summertime!

one of the best trails ever hiked in my 68 years of life!
