We hiked HooDoo Valley last weekend and loved it! We thought we lost the trail at one point and decided just to follow the creek bed and it turns out we went the right way! The caves at the top were amazing but definitely take a flashlight because it is dark. This hike took us 3.5 hrs including stopping to eat at the caves. I would totally reccommend this trail! So beautiful. We saw a few sheep on the hillside but other then that no animals. The view of Abraham Lake as you are hiking is amazing as well. There was some snow covering the scramble up to the caves but otherwise was fairly clear.

My son and I went up today. Great hike for sure. Cave was highlight. Find it beyond tall hoodoo up to the right. You'll see ribbon on tree branches marking the climb up. Bring a flashlight.

really great trail. we tried to find the shortcut down to the lake when we reached the top but got lost in the woods. we managed to find out way back to the trail by backtracking and the help of my GPS watch. we were really turned around! the views are spectacular. i wish someone would but friendly markers to the lake from the peak :) walking back down the way we came was still amazingly beautiful. our trip was 15km and took us 7 hours due to our little detour.

Was beautiful! I’m not an experienced hiker (nor do I work out) but I managed to make it to the top have lunch and back down in 4hours. Pretty steep and loose rock. Friend went up in tennis shoes and he didn’t struggle.

Great trail, easy hike beautiful suspension bridge. Did this hike with husband and friends at 26 weeks pregnant. Would be a great family hike. We carried on pass the park boundary; well worth it! The trail does get harder past the waterfalls and can be a little hard to navigate.

Scenic, easy trail. I think next time I'll continue on the trail after the first falls.

A nice easy hike. We started at the waste transfer site, hiked around the fence and found the trailhead marker easily. It was about a 20 min hike to the falls. Ate our lunch at the falls and then walked along the creek a bit. We took a less traveled path up from the creek and back up the main trail. It was easy to do with kiddos.

Awesome hike! Stay a bit closer to the left side up the scramble and it’ll be easier on the trail. Stuck to the trail once 3/4 of the way up so it was a bit more of a scramble the whole way. Closer to the edge though so we had views almost the whole way up! Good marking up the mountain as it got steeper. Gorgeous 360 views at the top are worth it.

My friend and I are both in our fifties and in really decent shape ( we think lol). This hike took us 7 1/2 hours with few short breaks. I’m sure the return trip can be done quicker as some of the reviews have reported but I’m not sure how you could do this in half the time.
Amazing trail that takes you in and out of the trees to incredible views and the summit was so worth the climb. The views are panoramic and are stunning.
We would highly recommend this hike and hope to do it again

Done this hike a few times. It’s a quick, fun, easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. I am in the Nordegg area often (one of my favourite places) and have done many hikes out there. We enjoy mixing up the harder hikes with some easier ones when camping for a few days - so this one is great!

Great hike, definitely steep all the way up. It’s short, but it takes a lot of energy! Great views at the top though, totally worth it.

Definitely a hard hike/scramble. Trailhead starts to the right of the parking , past the creepy dumpster on stilts. . I’m a beginner hiker who’s fairly in shape , this hike had my knees trembling on the way down thanks to loose rock all of the way down except the first 1/8.. My hubby and 9 and 5 year old did it like it was no big deal. The views are spectacular but very scary for those afraid of heights, I may or may not have cried when I saw how high we were getting even before the scarves. Took the ridge side down and had to ladder crawl down 90% with my gf who’s an avid hiker. Definitely recommend hiking boots (I only had my runners) and wear sunscreen , you’re not in the trees for long. Bring more water than snacks and a piece of paper to leave a note in the geocache. We did 3 hrs to the top and 2 down with minimal breaks. Fitbit clocked it at approx 13,000 steps and 213 floors. Not saying I’d do it again but Well worth the view ! Happy Trails!

If you follow the signs taking you to the canyon, you will find it. It was way easier to go down into the canyon and follow the creek up. We have done this trail in the summer and winter. Snowshoes are recommended in the canyon during the winter.

The hike up to the hoodoos was straightforward and easy.... slightly underwhelming. If you continue on passed them and up to the caves, that is the real gem on this hike for sure!

Trail is nice and in the shade. The lake is beautiful but unfortunately didn't get to see much because of the smoke. Better in the morning light.

From Nordegg- Approximately 4km past Two OClock rec area turn off. There's a small pull out on right side of road by a small creek. There is a sign for Kinglet Lake. Walk down old road and find prominent path. Stay left while heading up, incline starts fairly quickly. Steep hike up to a meadow. There will be a trail marker for Tuff Puff Ridge going right, kinglet going left. Kinglet was a beautiful, steep hike up. Great cutthroat fishing at the lake and very light traffic. Views weren't spectacular as BC fire haze created very poor visibility, but I'm sure they'd be amazing on a clear day. Great hike regardless and not one to be taken lightly.. hiking shoes are a must. Round trip for us was approx 4 hrs

A nice day hike. Looks like recent landslides have went through this area. Some of the trails through the trees on the left hand side of the creek dead ended. Maybe due to the landslide activity. We ended up turning around and going back up the creek from the 2 tall hoodoos. Found the first cave eventually which turned out to be quite interesting but definitely a scramble up and down in the scree to get to it.

Did this about a month ago, it’s a fun hike! It is steep in some areas and there is a bit of loose shale the entire hike so do be careful. I didn’t get far enough to see the caves unfortunately. The trail head is a little bit confusing so when you park and see the creek to your left, you can follow the creek up or just to the right of it is the actual trail. The views are amazing. Also I brought my dog with me and she managed just fine. Had to lift her onto a couple of bigger rocks to keep going but nothing to scary for her. Took about 3 1/2 hours to do (including stopping for a snack) Give it a try!

Great place for viewing and taking a quick soak by the water. Really cold though !! Sure wakes you up. Some areas are really steep. Dog had to enable its 4 paw drive to get around. May be difficult for little kids.

Amazing views the whole way up to the geocache, but it's definitely worth it to go the rest of the scramble to the summit. Trails were well used and visible with lots of other hikers.

My husband and I did this hike with our 13 and 12 year old children, and our dog. The uphill sections were steep and challenging, but we took breaks and made it to Kinglet Lake in about 2.5 hours (the return trip was 1.5 hours). The lake was beautiful and we were the only people there. The water was crystal clear and fish were jumping. The kids went for a swim, but it was definitely chilly! Wear good trail shoes.

Amazing Falls!! A couple steep parts but not to bad..... did miss the sharp turn and ended up walking down the river.... definitely would do it again

Great hike, incredible views! Very steep, would recommend hiking shoes.

Trail to the falls is closed due to wild fire. :( you cant even cross the suspension bridge. So check trail report first before you head there.

Nice easy trail with some fun creek drainage bouldering toward the top. Left trailhead at 9:45am and our group was the 2nd group up. Great little scramble to the enormous and cool cave at top. By the time we finished lunch and we’re headed down, the trail was packed with hikers. (Stopped counting after 70). Good views, but take a flashlight for the cave.

Pretty casual hiking up to the hoodoos, from there you could continue up the creek to the cave. We decided to ascend the slope to the south, there’s a bit of a trail to start and then you’ll have to scramble up some shale but when make it to the top of the ridge the view is incredible.

A bit busy to the first set but that's where most families stop. The views are amazing! Well worth some difficult areas on the way to the 2nd and 3rd sets of falls.

it is fun easy and a nice walk for the dogs, great for kids
