Trail was packed down. Nice light snow fall during the hike.

Tough but fun hike with great elevation changes. The loop from the parking and back is around 7.8 km.

Nice park paved trail. There are picnic tables at the north east end and a playground at the north end. There are bathrooms, did not use, possibly flush toilets. The trail is a loop and there is a bridge on the north end that goes out to an island that is an out and back path. It is not long with no real uphill/downhill parts. The trail is cleared of snow in the winter for the most part. Just a trail for the "a nice walk in the park" moments.

Nice easy walk to town. Lots of wildlife spotting opportunities

I thought this was an excellent trail- entirely in nature. The hike was a continuous series of long ups and long downs, perfect for cardiac bursts / rests... and even a set of “legs on fire” stairs (230) within the first km. It seemed that stretches of flat terrain were few and never longer than about 100 metres. For a person in moderate shape I believe this to be aptly termed “hard”- its no mountain hike but compared to most 7 km walks it was a continuous cardiac push. I would drive the 30 minutes (40 km), at least once a week to do this walk .
Although after re-reading the description I bypassed the long flat golf course and upper neighborhoods- so I remained in the trees which I think added to the consistent up and down. I’m guessing that my detours created a more challenging walk.

Great walk if you find yourself downtown Calgary and need a short break from the urban scene.

Very good tool to find trails!

Cant find entrance

A great trail. Amazing view of the city, yet you feel like you’re in the woods.

Nice area but far from "hard" as stated above. Nice paved trails with picnic tables spaced around.
Good area for a walk but wouldn't describe as a place for hiking.
Easy and then maybe a little closer to moderate, at the stairs.

Good for a run.

Living across from the lake has its advantages. Great place for a jog or a walk. Also a good place if you want to train for endurance hiking.

This was a walking trail, it is rated very poorly. The hard rating is where hiking ends and becomes an easy scrambling.

It is a nice, walk.

Nice for bike paths , took my 6 year old and she loved it .
Very busy path on weekends.

Short very very easy walk

Meh, considering its built on the garbage dump, I guess it's not that bad if you dont look too close. Good place to bring the pooch for a run.

It's a decent city trail for a walk. There are several social trails that take off from the main trail and there is construction of a water treatment plant that has closed off some of the trail so navigation is a little challenging. If you're just out for a walk along the river and golf course, it's fine.

A great short nature walk/hike right in downtown Calgary.

Great for being right in the city.

I love it

So much fun, mostly tree covered so if it’s really sunny out you’re not boiling. The stairs really get your heart pumping!

Nice loop for a trail run, but it’s clear that the city has been neglecting the park; there is a lot of garbage along the trail with some areas that feel like hurdles. Also, no one has been restocking the hand sanitizer in the restroom.

Lots of waterfowl and owls
