I personally have done hundreds of hours of trail maintenance on the Jumping Pound – Pinetop Trail to keep it navigable by youngsters and senior hikers and a place for beginner and intermediate mountain bikers. I have removed those beautiful formed cow pies that get on your boots and bike tires. Yes, the trail is slippery when wet. The trail also is easily damaged when really wet and muddy; not so much when the trail is reasonably dry or frozen. If you are really hard core and want to get out no matter the conditions, do what I have done, go in behind Mt. Robson solo for ten days. Don’t be a cow!

Beautiful fall hike! The leaves were starting to change and the weather was glorious. It is a really easy hike with little elevation gain so it was a nice 2 hour trek. This would be perfect with elementary school aged kids. (My 11 and 13 year old found it really easy and loved it.)

Great hike if you don’t have a lot of time. Not many views but amazing wild flowers. Decent mix of ups and flats. Ok for fit kids over about 9 years old. Trail head is not well marked, need to download the route.

July 11. A good easy treck through the woods. lots of flowers out now but all the creeks have dried up. We had a husky, Bichon & Chihuahua who loved it. Went super early and was no one around. You can hear a bear knocker along the trail but it wasn't loud.

A great little 5km trail with options to do additional kms after the loop. From the parking lot we walked to the lake and kept right until we found the trail. Take a left soon after and that is the start of the trail. It was our first time on the trail and I used GPS which really helped us stay on trail with 3 or 4 intersections that could have got us lost. We did the loop clockwise and looked for the side trail that continues climbing upwards but couldn't find it. Trail was dry and in great condition.

Completed the loop, could have used some snow shoes. This was more a reconnaissance hike looking to do a snow shoe traverse of Ole Buck mountain from north to south summit. Beautiful day for i

Awesome classic single track for mountain biking! We have also hiked this and it is nice if you are looking for a more relaxing one compared to ones with a higher incline and elevation.

Very easy! It feels tropical because of high trees covering sunlight.

It was good to build your stamina if you're a first time hiker (like us). Not too much variety in terms of scenery but still beautiful none the less. We committed to the 10k and were knackered by the end (probably a piece of cake for someone who is fit/experienced)

Spectacular 360 view from the top

LOTS of mountain bikers, making it really hard to have any sort of a peaceful walk, and there must be a shooting range nearby, because all we could hear was gunshots the entire time. Not planning on coming back. Oh well, off to the next one.

easy first hike of the year. Icy in some spots and muddy in others, this was expected at this time of year. We took a wrong turn at the campground and ended up walking the road for a bit. Otherwise it was nice

BRING CRAMPONS!!! In the early spring more then 50% of the full lope was ice, 35% mud, and only 15% dry. Dips between the hill that have run off flowing through were extremely slippery with glossy ice covering both sides. However that trail is hike-able with some diversion. With waterproof footwear and a good pair of crampons, the trail is enjoyable.

We completed this in mid-june and the hillsides were thick with wildflowers and butterflies (my kids still refer to it as the butterfly hike).

It is a fairly easy hike with limited views. Handy as a family outing not far from the city.

A pleasant walk in the woods. Note that the full loop is about 9km - but you have the option to shorten it at the halfway point. We usually start this at the pinetop parking lot, but there are multiple access points.

Not a 'classic' hike by any description, but it is a perfect beginner location for those that would like to get into hiking - a step above walks on paved paths.

Trail is signed and easily followed with no route finding challenges. The portion on the south side of Hwy 68 is more interesting with its views over the jumping pound creek gorge but tends to hold snow/ice/mud longer in the spring and earlier in the fall.

Good easy hike - smaller hills, a lot of woods. Would wear pants next time, a lot of tall grass.

Rooty for biking if you don't have suspension, but a really nice trail for an intermediate distance and elevation skill level.

One to try!! Rode this April 2,2016 had the trail all to ourselves. We did it clockwise to the south side. Good warm up, before hitting the north side or pine top for the ups and downs may challenge your cardio. The south side had some muddy and icy section but added to the fun. I enjoyed this ride and will definitely head back! There is some pretty views of the river and mountains.
