very beautiful! the steep incline lasts 90% of the hike but the view is completely worth it! dress cool and wear sunscreen, you’ll be in the sun most of the time ☀️

Hard and worth it. I am in moderate (sit in a car all day) shape. We made it up in just under 2 hours. The view is fab! And back down in about an hour.

Incredible view!

My favorite view, worth going to the peak itself rather than staying on the ridge— even though I noticed lots of people avoiding it (probably because it looks like a tough scramble from the ridge) but it’s worth the extra few minutes and it’s really not bad..even in runners!

Great hike with excellent views. Completed this Saturday July 14. Started very early before the crowds. Passed loads of people on the way down. Total time was 2.5 hours including 15 minutes at the top. We were on a major time crunch because of a wedding and had a grueling pace. Basically ran down the mountain. Definitely challenging and gets the lungs going but not all that bad if you’re in shape. A highlight of my trip to Banff

Awesome hike on the way up. Steep and challenging, but well worth the trek once you reach the top. The only issue I had with this hike was on the way down. What looked to be a path was definitely NOT one. It led me off trail and into the forest for some bushwhacking. Luckily, I managed to get to a road and found myself a couple of kilometres from the EEOR parking lot. Important note: as you are descending, stay left!

Starts off in the trees at a moderate incline. Once you break the tree line, it gets a bit steep. The view over the ridge is gorgeous. From there you can head up to the peak or make your way to miner’s peak as well!

Good hike. Steep sections but worth it. Excellent views at the top; one can see for kms around, and snow to slide down on the way back! The top can be tricky for those afraid of heights.

Gorgeous views! Steep inclines but so worth it. We only went up a tad farther than the helipad as we started late and were running out of time. Well marked and easy to locate the trail.

Absolutely stunning! I took the "hard" route, which wasn't too bad. The hard route is rewarded with stunning views of Canmore and the valley, and provides a pretty nice workout to boot. The two lakes at the top of the hike are beautiful, which offer a color transition due to the algae(?) in the water. Would definitely recommend this to anyone heading to Canmore!

Quick and easy trail. “Difficult” option isn’t very challenging. Good views at the top

Super easy trail. The trail splits up and there is an easy hike and a difficult one. The easy one is very very easy, super wide train, good terrain, quick walk to the top.

If you go left at the fork and take the difficult on, it has a much better pay off - you have to walk across a small stream at certain points, there is a beautiful view of a waterfall, the view down to towards the lake is gorgeous as well. The hike includes a easy/moderate incline, until the end which includes some stair which were backed up a little and slow going as it was a weekend with lots of people, and people were trying to go up and down.

The lakes at the top are nice, and if you keep going, theres also people rock climbing and you can climb into a couple of the small caves right near the ground to take pictures and explore with kids.

We went the hard way up then took the easy way down. Good option.

A challenging hike, lots of incline, make sure to check the weather before you go because canmore can get really hot, also bring more than enough water. Beautiful view at the end, make sure you go right up to the peak for the best experience

Easier Hike! Takes about 30-40 minutes to hike up and about 25 minutes down! Lakes at the top worth it !

So beautiful!! Would recommend the clockwise direction and bringing lots of sunscreen because most of the hike is quite exposed

Amazing views... go clockwise... you won’t regret it!

Amazing hike! Such stunning views and a gorgeous ridge walk. Would recommend doing it in the clockwise direction (starting from the trail before the parking lot) just because the scramble up, in my opinion, would be harder to go down! 360 views, would definitely recommend! This took my friend and I 5 hours in total including breaks for photos, lunch at the weather station and general breaks to enjoy the view!

it was definitely worth it going all the way to the top! we went sunday afternoon wasn't too busy. i am still feeling sore two days after we did the hike. i would recommend wearing the proper shoes and even bringing hiking poles if you have them! took us 4 hours to go to the top and back down (took less time going down then up haha)

Beautiful views once at the top & the glacier is stunning. The hike itself not so much. An easy path through the forest brings you into the uphill challenging section of the trail. Scree, rock and more of the same. Ore than moderate, this is especially challenging on the downhill. Poles are a must.

Rated hard.. it mean it. Not for average joe Doe.!! Make sure you are physically fit for this hike.

This was a great hike that my family and I took while staying in Canmore. We took the harder trail up and the easier trail down. It started raining about 15 minutes after we started, but it was still beautiful and worth the hike to the top. Glad we took the harder trail first in the rain as the steps to the top were easier to climb up when slippery.

An amazing hike. Definitely recommend doing the loop in a clockwise direction. The scramble up is challenging but coming down that section would scare me! Both my gps and my partners gps came up with this being a 12.5!km hike.

Guys, it is an awesome trail but some scramble at the end with loose rocks. Coming down the same way, a little tough from the peak for the first 15-20 mins or so. I did the hike in 2 hours and 10 mins up and down, but then I was alone so just kept climbing and literally ran down. Amazing views from the top. Gives a satisfaction of reaching a summit.

Nice and easy hike

Leg burner with amazing views. At the very top it’s a bit of a scramble on loose rock. Noticed all levels of hikers on the trail. For people that don’t hike much, it’s a challenging but rewarding trail. I’ll do it again once my legs have forgotten ;)

Trip on Jul. 14. A perfect day for hiking.

mama black bear with cubs on the trail. Unable to complete as she kept coming back and wouldnt get off the trail.

Highly recommended hike, leg burning hike for sure, hard on the lungs going up, hard on the legs/knees going down, very steep all the way up, but worth the view at the top, please make sure you have enough water to last you a total of 4 hours, i find that going down was much easier for me so only took us 1.5 hours going down compare to going up took us 2.5...this is a difficult hike for a beginner like me, make sure you are with someone who will push you all the way...wear hiking shoes and use trekking poles, it’s a big help....and oh yeah bring snacks:) will give you energy going down...hope you will have fun just like me who almost gave up after 30 minutes, but nonetheless #IMADEIT so #WORTHIT, oh and go there early so it’s not busy, we went up around 9:30 am less busy but when we came down around 12:30 lots of people are going up....you have to wait for people to pass through as the trail is very steep....

Busy therefore not ideal for me. Pretty views but not very interesting to hike. All flat. All hill. All rocks. Then repeat in reverse order.

Amazing hiking. Recommended
