I’ve done this trail twice now. First half is a breeze and second is a bit more challenging but the views are amazing.

We completed this hike a few months ago! Great hike but did not bring enough water. Somehow thought 1L would be enough for two people. Did complete the hike but we were definitely struggling by the end. Would recommend 2-3L per person for a comfortable journey. First 3 km are very steep. Then flattens our for another 3km. Last 1.5-2 km modestly steep with amazing views at the top. Seemed like there was an additional scramble up to the left but due to lack of orientation water we decided to turn back! Make sure to take a picture at the summit and show it at the folding mountain brewery at the bottom for a complimentary beverage. Also the food is amazing! Well worth the trip! Took us 5 hours total including lunch at the top

Solid solo hike. Arrived around 8am and never saw anyone until 11am when I was nearly back at my truck. Exchanged the ol' "What's up?" nods and the classic "Ugh how much farther!?" and "You have a ways to go!" exchange. Ahhh hiking banter...

Did this hike with my dog. The first part is the hardest. Bring lots of water. God's country. It was absolutely beautiful. 06/26/18.

Well marked trail, amazing views from the summit! A bit of a climb but definitely worth it, recommend going into the Black Cat Ranch for trail maps

Loved it
800 metres from the Cabin we rented! Steep and challenging but views that were worth it:) had lunch on top at half way point went to the end and then back, about 6.5 hours. Quiet and peaceful, bring bear spray, make noise, they are around.

Loved this hike! We did it in approximately 7 hours and a half, but stopped 1 hour at the top. If you get at the top early enough, you can continue your walk for miles and miles because the mountain tops are all connected. The last km was quite hard because the ground is really soft and steep, but the view is definitely worth it.

Great hike! Exactly what I was looking for. It took our group of 5 about 8 hours to complete. We could have shaved a few hours off if we didn’t stop for so many breaks. View at the top is pretty awesome. A little disappointed to find a quad trail on the back side once you summit.
The first 2-3km is by far the hardest part, after that fairly easy.
Lots of bear sign near the top, be sure you have spray or something.
We did this on May long weekend 2018 and no snow and dry trail.

Great winter snowshoe hike. It would be a boring hike in the summer when there are hundreds of more spectacular destinations. It's also a nice hike for late season (October-November) when there aren't many options

Really enjoyed this hike. Pretty easy and beautiful view of the mountains. Very happy we took the alternate route back to the ranch where we seen massive old trees both fallen and standing.

Having climbed this mountain many times in the last 40 years, it really pleases me to see it on this listing, especially as I am the one who has done most of the maintenance, mapping and signage on the trail as well for these 40 years.

Please stop in at the Black Cat Ranch lodge and pick up a free map of this and other trails in the area. We have had the privaledge of living in this spectacular location and love to share the trails with others.
