Trail is near impossible to find. Basically a bush whack till you get to the scree line, once you’re there just find any way up. Mostly fine plate scree

A nice, fairly easy hike. Some nice views and a couple inclines, not overly stressful.

Enjoyed the varied terrain, good views on the way up but no real summit at which to picnic.

Nice easy hike with some nice views of the river.

Nice one for trail running ... gentle rolling hills and nice path underfoot.

Not too many people, but very nice view. Love it!

Tried to do this today and somehow ended up climbing Powderface instead haha

The trail is not really marked and I was relying on AllTrails. Unfortunately my GPS shut itself off for a bit and when it came back on is when we realized we were on the completely wrong trail. Worked out ok because the hike was beautiful, just wasn't what we had planned. May try this one again and be more careful with my route finding.

Beautiful vistas. Trail no overly well marked.

Nice views, definitely go up clockwise per map.

Did this trail yesterday. Parking lot is currently closed for upgrades, so you have to park on highway and walk in. Very poor signage. Have never been to this area before, we walked right past the trail head and ended up at the bridge. Crossed the river and finally found a sign and realized we walked right past the trail head for this hike. We finally found our way to the trail and once on it, it was great. Good steady incline. Because of the poor signage our 5km hike ended up being over 12...oh well

Nice & Easy, but we should have done elbow trail first as it was slushy for the second half

Still have a lot of know at the Elbow trail

Hello All Trails.

"The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until October."

Actually this trail is highly used as a popular x country ski trail all winter long. It is maintained by a group of local hard working volunteers and the generous donations of those who use it. It's one of the best well maintained short x country ski trails 45 minutes from Calgary.

This trail is an intermediate level for those who've x country skied and would not recommend for those who are new to skiing.

Yesterday I had one of the best spring skis on this trail in near perfect weather and snow conditions with our later spring. Great to be able to ski as late as 6pm with the house of longer daylight.

A pleasant walk in the woods with some modest views.

The trailhead here has recently been improved with increased parking, signage and an outhouse.

Trail route is slightly modified as well between the trailhead and the Fullerton Loop junction as the trail no longer dips down to the Elbow River to join the 'pre-flood' route. No route finding issues and it avoids the area that was usually extremely icy in winter and spring.

At the start very poor signage ( even further up you'll need to turn south to follow the trail, trail starts south end of the parking lots. Really nice climb to start leading to ing's mine. Great views of the river once you cross the highway.

There is no water thought but great views

Had really nice views along the way, we went right off the trail head, then we had the beautiful views as we came back down

4.5/5 stars! Lovely little hike. A bit steep at the beginning/end so we walked along the highway to get to the parking lot. Saw some deer and a black bear (although it was across on a far ridge). Beautiful trail, but not a lot of signs so check in as needed with your trail map!

Great hike. Good trail. Nice views. A few muddy spots but nothing too bad. Would do this trail again.

Super early spring hike. Probably best to do it counterclockwise. Trail has everything - decent inclines, open meadows, babbling streams and some nice views of white capped mountains. And 12 kms of trail for some decent early season conditioning.

This hike was a pleasant surprise - wide open trails, plenty of scenery, very pretty setting and then some decent elevation half way thru the hike. Definitely want to do this one counterclockwise. I would do this hike again and again - great early spring hike!

I have been here countless times. if you do not leave the picnic area then you will never like this site. but if you walk east from the parking lot and pass under the overpass and head north you can get some pretty nice hiking. if you stick the the picnic area 1 star windy and overcrowded.
