The hills at the beginning of the hike are hard work, but if you push past them it'll be worth it for the amazing mountain views that follow :)

Great trail system close to home, great biking and hiking opportunities. Great views of the river and railway... Depending on the time of year you'll also see the cows grazing in the fields.

Love this trail for its elevation gain/switch backs that make you work thru the entire hike, also, love the option to hike down the backside of Sansen to the Cave and Basin to change it up on the way down. Extend the hike at the top by walking the boardwalk to the cosmic ray station. Amazing views of Banff are a nice bonus :)

Great for its proximity to home. So easy to get out there for a few loops and some fresh air anytime of year!

Beautiful hike but decently hard, especially in the winter!

Nice leisurely walk for all ages, beautiful scenery busy during the day with lineups on the foot bridge near the lower falls.

Strenuous but worth it, once you get through the switchbacks there’s a nice level plain with stunning views of the 10 peaks

Lots of cow patties!! But what a great hike.

Love this hike. Stunning views from the top with a picnic table to have your lunch. You can also sign a visitors book. Has some steep parts but overall a great hike.

Beautiful, relatively short and flat trail. Great way to start the snowshoeing season. The day was gorgeous, blue sky, sunshine and temperature around -3C.

Windy around the lake and at summit, but warm in the trees. Brought snowshoes in case but didn’t end up needing them, the trail was pretty packed down. Amazing hike, will definitely do again!!

Great for snowshoeing, beautiful

Good hike up, some steep parts for my beginner legs. Way down was quick.

Awesome snowshoe hike. The views are amazing and there was hardly anybody on the trail.
I’d rate it more easy than moderate, since the inclination is very gradual except for some hilly parts near the end. Took us
3 1/2 hours to complete it including snack and numerous photo breaks.
Can’t wait to see the lake in summer!

Took the snowshoes made the east end of Sulphur a bit easier to walk. Beauty day Jan 15

Easy trail with amazing views

Wasootch Day Use Area is 17 KM south on Kananaskis Trail (Hwy 40). The trail head is fairly easy to locate but you are presented with a myriad of trails right at the onset. I found the best route is to immediately bear right towards the picnic bench and then follow the trail up from there. Note: The green trail map sign at the trailhead will tell you nothing of the trail to the ridge. It’s a fairly strenuous climb at first; edgy sections with small exposure, loose rock over slab, ~160m gain in 0.5km. Once on the ridge, it’s a series of up and down to several peaks. . I hit 5 minor peaks and only hiked just over half the trail! This day I just didn’t have the energy. The views all around are what makes this trip worthwhile. Right from the start, just turn around and take in the scenery, it’s breathtaking. I covered around 8.5km total trip, with ~765m elevation gain. The return trip would have been fairly treacherous if it was wet, lucky for me it stayed

Long, boring slog through the trees for 90% of the hike with nothing to see. Starts getting interesting at the base of Eisenhower. The last climb that takes you from Tower Lake to Rockbound is pretty tough but worth the trouble. The cliffs surrounding Rockbound Lake are extraordinary.

Breathtaking scenery. Crossing back and forth over the wooden bridges is a real treat!
