Really nice easy trail with great views atop Mesa Butte. Nice 2 hour hike.

It was a little snowy in places, though melting quickly through the day, I doubt it will last but be prepared for snow/puddles/mud at this point in the season. Nice gradual ascent and amazing views.

If you don't mind bush whacking a bit (as parts of the trail are poorly marked) then it's a beautiful hike. Took us about 2 hours round trip. GPS was handy so we could check periodically and make sure we were heading somewhat along the path. We cris crossed from one side of the trail to the other a few times. When starting out would recommend taking the trail to the right of the waterfall as it's a little better marked especially for the climb up.

One of the best views, when they say it is a grind... it is no lie.... lol.

This is a great hike summer or winter or midnight! You can start at the west or east location and you are on top under 1 hour. Fantastic views and great at night when you can see Calgary’s lights.

The trail is not well marked at all, about 5 minutes in the the only way to figure it out is with the GPS, not ideal.

Nice trail but not much of a view from the top. Fairly flat/moderate incline for the first 2/3 or so and then a decent climb for the last 1/3. I’d recommend hiking shoes/boots. Trail is pretty rocky. But definitely still doable in runners.

Tough at the beginning, steady uphill, but easier once you hit the switchbacks. Your view is all tree line until you hit the “false summit” then it opens up to beautiful mountains and wild flowers.

Tried to hike this today. Not a very well marked / defined trial. Basically had to rely on the gps to stay on track. Ended up turning around after an hour. Pretty country. Just needs some definition on the trail.

Fairly easy trail more steeper 10 minutes from the top (cliffs). Kinda overcast when I was there and than the thunder started. Had a drizzly rain all the way back down helped cook me off. LOL

I did this trail last July. Beautiful short hike that I definitely plan to do again shortly.

Loved this loop! Will definitely do it again.

Nice hike...short drive from Calgary...sooo if Burstall is a 4 i guess this would be a 31/2.
Not difficult...slow steady grade...spectacular view from the top and for lunch!

Amazing view at the top. I didn't find this hike to be to difficult and it was during winter. Can't wait to go back and see it during the summer.
