São Paulo, Brazil Map
VIEW FULL MAP

This is an excellent hike close to Sao Paulo, Brazil. The first half is through the jungle and the second half offers some, but not a lot of shade. We saw monkeys which was a treat. The recording is from the parking area to the summit of Pico do Jaraguá. The view from the top gives you an appreciation for just how big Sao Paulo is (The largest city in South America). I am traveling on business and did not have my trekking poles, but was certainly wishing that I had them. Would recommend this hike for sure!

Anspruchsvoller Weg durch Regenwald mit mehreren Wasserfällen. Teilweise sehr steinig. Das Ziel ist das Dorf Bonete, das sonst nur per Boot erreicht werden kann. Am Ende sehr schöne Aussicht auf die Bucht von Bonete.

Great hike just North of São Paulo. Took an Uber to Alberto Löfgren State Park (about 40 min from Paulista area). First part of the hike is paved but has pretty impressive inclines. We took the split to the left (500 km longer) on the way up. The trail to Lago das Carpas was clay and gravel for the most part. We started the hike early and it was mostly shaded, a plus when it is hot and humid. We used mosquito repellent as it was advised by locals. Never encountered any mosquitos but happy to be prepared. Would definitely recommend this hike.

This trail is smal part of a 250 mile trail . It’s a beautiful site seeing and big part of it is on dirt . Be prepared for raining that’s common in this mountain system.

Awesome trail to achieve the three waterfalls, the highest one is the most beautiful and needs more attention with the rocks!! Amazing view!!

my girl cried like hell complaining I was restricting her water. There's only one water spring in this trail. Anyway, totally worth it!!!

In order to reach the hiking trail, you need to pay 90 reais which will give also give you access to two other trails (trilha dos quatis and another one), a swimming pool and some hammocks. There is a buffet restaurant on the site. - The trail itself is quite safe. - It is very short, tem minutes to reach the end - Completely paved - At the end of the trail there is a nice waterfall (Cachoeira Cassorova, 60 m). Very refreshing on a hot day - There are 250 stair steps on the way back - Overall, this is an easy hike

Nice trail with great views of Atibaia and surrounding regions. Rugged with little shade, especially after fires this past week. Trails are not marked, but there are great boulders and a cool stream halfway up. Best for hikers age 8 and up. Bring lots of water as you are exposed for nearly the entire hike.

The trail is completely paved and has a steep inclination towards the end. It should be appropriate for everybody, including kids (since it is paved). You arrive at a spot with a beautiful view of the city. Parking space is limited, so you should plan to arrive early or get an uber. You need to pay a small entrance fee and the whole trail is super safe.

It’s just a dirt road, no technical difficulty besides loose sand over hardpack. Some steep hills though, especially at the first 2 miles. For bikers with some fitness, no beginners. And there are many awesome singletrack trails that can be accessed from this main one. Just there are no signs at all. Either ride with a local or download on your GPS from other apps like Wikiloc or Garmin.

Easy walk on Sundays. Enjoy the street artist, kiosks and nearby shoppings. Alternatively, you can also ride bike on the cycle lane in middle of the avenue.

Offering a perfect escape from the concrete jungle of São Paulo, the paved trails of the park provide an ideal place for a run, walk or opportunity to relax under the shade trees. While the trail had a high number of people, my run never felt impeded.
