The Serra dos Órgãos National Park is a Federal Integral Protection Unit of the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), whose main objective is to preserve representative samples of national ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy one of the best places in the country to practice mountain sports, such as climbing, hiking, rappel and others; besides enjoying beautiful waterfalls. The park has a fantastic network of trails, more than 200 kilometers in all levels of difficulty: from the suspended trail, accessible to people in wheelchairs, to the heavy Traverse Petrópolis-Teresópolis, with 30 kilometers of high and steep mountains. One of the most famous climbs is Dedo de Deus (God's Finger), considered the starting point of rock climbing in the country. The park is home to a precious biodiversity, including many endangered animals and many endemic species (which only occur in this location).Show more
