This is a challenging trail, with great variation of altitude, with stretches where it is necessary to climb rocks to proceed. The Bonete Trail is excellent for nature lovers, crossing through 3 beautiful waterfalls suitable for bathing, being the first the best one for swimming. The views from the overlook when you arrive at the beach, is enough to make the hike worthwhile. You can return the same way back or pay a local boatman about 80 reais per person to return. There is an area with good infrastructure for camping at Bonete beach with several hostels and inns. The Bonete community is very simple, many places do not have electricity, in case you are going to spend the night remember to bring a flashlight. Show more

This peak can be reached a few different ways: by cable car only, by a mix of hiking and cable car, or by climbing/hiking up the mountain. Please do your research to determine the best route for you. Enjoy scenic panorama on the Cidade Maravilhosa (marvellous city) from the top of the world famous Sugar Loaf. Sugar Loaf is the most famous peak in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is located at the mouth of Guanabara Bay and rises 396 metres (1,299 ft) above the harbor. In the 1979 James Bond movie, Moonraker, a famous fight between Jaws (played by Richard Kiel), 007 (Roger Moore) and the agent's ally, Dr. Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles) was filmed on this cable car. This scene with fantastic background scenic views on Rio de Janeiro has contributed to the fame of the site.Show more
