Great short and easy hike to see the view of the lake and city. We are there's two routes, a one from the city or along the lakeside of the mountain. Best place to catch the sunset

Very pretty with medicinal plants and lots of history. Not moderate IMO.

Basic trail up to rocky outcrop with views of Copacabana and lake Titicaca. Ok for a short walk - 20-30 minutes uphill. Entrance fee was B10

Did it in 2016 (without a guide) before all the bridges were destroyed. Amazing, would defintely do it again.

What an amazing experience. You don't need a guide, just a map. We started at the guide station in La Cumbre, where we were given a map and a hand drawn map of how to get to the pass. You basically just walk up the correct road - this trail is a road for the first 6 miles or so I would guess. You walk through the dark, bare rock, pieces of eroding slate, up and over the pass. After a while you will start seeing clumps of grass again, and views of the valleys and Incan ruins below if you get a break in the clouds. I filled up on water near those ruins, which were the Incan toll buildings back in the day. The map on all trails isnt entirely correct - sometimes it follows the modern road instead of the Incan Road, but if you pay attention it's easy to follow the correct trail. After a while you'll get to the first small town, where a lady will run out to great you, have you sign a register, and try to sell you soda or water. There are a few more scattered small "towns" along the way, but after the road ended and no more cars could pass through all the towns were empty when we went in early February. In one of the towns you will pay a 20 Boliviano toll for use of the trail. You'll walk down and start to enter the cloud forest. Be cautious - almost all the bridges on the lower section of the trail were washed out from recent rains. You are able to cross, but it will be an adventure :) I would highly recommend this trail if you are in Bolivia - it is amazing to see the ecosystems slowly change before your feet, from bare rock to lush cloud forest. I saw so many hummingbirds and butterflies. The views are incredible. As I went during the rainy season, the trail was wet and the Incan rocks can become slick. I recommend a walking stick. Camping on this trail is very comfortable. There are many shelters you can use to set up your tent underneath. I heard locals charge you a small fee but we didnt see a soul the last 2 days of our hike.

Go with a guide. You can’t afford to miss this opportunity. I have been to La Paz over a dozen times for a month at a time and this was one of my top five activities in the area.

Beautiful walking trail the runs along the ridge of Isla del Sol and through small villages and historical sites. You can even take little side trails to reach some high points and hills on the island. Options to do this as a day trip and get dropped off at one end of the island and picked up on the other end (Challapampa to Yumani or vice versa). It's such a lovely place that you may as well stay the night and explore!
