My 8 yr. old and I completed the full trail Mar. 2020. It was a really fun adventure lots of caves to explore and some cool obstacles as well; small little scramble up some rocks or venturing into the overgrown 100M part on the north side half way through the loop. it can be hard to find the trail in a couple spots so the app definitely helped us out.

Great for a day hike. No equipment needed, just some walking shoes.

We used this trail over Christmas and it was really helpful we would have missed a lot of off the beaten path trails had we just followed our instincts. The overgrown nature of some parts is really beautiful and the undisturbed caves are really special.

trail is ok. caves were lots of fun to explore

We love coming to Spittal Pond for the solitude and ocean views. We hiked in early August, and although warm it wasn't too bad. Started at the Western entrance to the park and after a short hike we arrived at an overlook with a great view. We hung out and watched the waves crashing into the rocks for a while before continuing our hike onward and upward past the Checkerboard to Portuguese Rock. No beach, but awesome views and plenty of room to sit and watch the waves. Also a huge variety of different sea life amongst the rocks in the water. Saw a few parrot fish (large) as well. Well worth taking time out for.
