Xhoffraix is one of the villages that lies directly on the High Fens and has to brave the harsh weather of the plateau. High hedges surround the houses here to protect against the harsh climate. After the biting wind on the plateau, it can be tolerated well on the banks of the Warche and the Bayehon. When climbing from the bottom of the valley, the crystal-clear river water stands out more clearly from the green. After the bridge you come to Burg Reinhardstein. On the other hand, the climb to the ridge requires the highest concentration, because the path is steep and slippery. Once at the top, the view compensates for the gentle loops of the Warche in the valley. Between rugged rocks and torrents you reach the basin. Now meadows and pastures line the path.Show more

Located on the edge of the Hautes Fagnes Eiffel nature reserve, its famous Signal de Botrange - the highest point in Belgium, at an altitude of 694 meters (statistics are debated) - is a protected place where millions pass each year. There are many marked trails which in winter have the good, snowy conditions. The climate is harsh, but the place is unique and worth visiting while scrupulously respecting nature.Show more

This hike takes you to Reinhardstein Castle. The variety of landscapes is guaranteed on this route. Shortly after the dam, the scenic hiking trail begins. Schloss Reinhardstein and the river landscape offer charming views. On Napoleon's nose (In Dutch "Neus van Napoleon"), the view falls vertiginously at the bottom of the valley. On a path which sometimes goes up strongly in slope, sometimes strongly in descent, it goes towards the south. After the conifers, the deciduous crowns of the oaks provide shade. At the crossroads, turn right and walk along the hill to La Warche. Upstream, the valley gradually narrows until Burg Reinhardstein appears: the perfect model for the fairytale castle. From a platform, we take a last look at the wilderness of the valley, on which the castle stands majestically.Show more
