#1 - Schlegeisspeicher to the Olpererhütte and Friesenberghaus

Length: 8.8 mi • Est. 5 h 30 m
Use the road from Mayrhofen to the Schlegeisspeicher. You need to pay 12,50 toll to enter the Mautstrasse. At the end of the road there is a parking lot. From there you follow the signs to the Olpererhütte and then up to Friesenbergsee. It’s uphill and very rocky, so definitely a leg burn. The views of the reservoir and surrounding Alps are fantastic throughout the hike. 1.5-2 hours to the summit. Show more
#2 - Stubaier Höhenweg

Length: 56.8 mi • Est. Multi-day
The Stubaier Höhenweg long-distance hiking trail leads over 5,000 vertical meters and 8 huts at almost 90 kilometers. It goes around the Staubaier valley on one of the most beautiful but demanding high altitude hiking trails in the Eastern Alps. The hike is divided into 7 stages, but can be arranged as you wish. The absolute highlight of the route are the many glaciers between Dresdner and Bremer Hütte. The route is classified as a black mountain path and leads through alpine terrain. Endurance, sure-footedness, the right equipment and a head for heights are basic requirements. It doesn't matter in which direction the high-altitude hiking trail goes. Both directions are possible. From each hut you can also descend into the valley and ascend again if you want to complete the long hike in stages.Show more
#3 - Gaisalmsteig and Mariensteig via Oberaubach
Karwendel Nature Park

Length: 5 mi • Est. 2 h 41 m
This route runs along the Achensee, which forms the natural border between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains. Since the path runs west of the Achensee, you are still in the Karwendel Mountains. On the Marienstig it goes to the Geiselalm. Bathing places invite you to take breaks and enjoy the cool water, which is why the route is particularly suitable for warm days. The return trip to the starting point can be done by boat. Parking at the starting point is possible at the Alpen Caravan Park (fees apply).Show more

The wild shortage lies in the hiking area of the mountain climbing village Vent. Already the ascent reveals wonderful views of the three thousand meter peaks of the Ötztal Alps lying in the south and southwest.Show more

Beautiful route through Wolfsklamm. Restaurant at St Georgenberg. Returning over Kreuzweg is not special. The route in the klamm was corrected because the GPS reception was not good.Show more

Since the end of October 2011, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Austria has been found in Holzgau in the Lech Valley. It is located near the famous Simms waterfall and leads over the Höhenbach gorge at a height of 110 m. The 200 m long bridge is illuminated during the night and can be seen from the village center of Holzgau. The suspension bridge in Holzgau is freely accessible and can be walked on for free.Show more

A nice hiking route. The last section requires some stamina, otherwise the route is quite easy. It is also well signposted.Show more

Length: 10.6 mi • Est. 8 h 4 m
This is the so-called "normal route" to the Grossglockner. From the Lucknerhaus near Kals am Großglockner in East Tyrol, it goes over the Lucknerhütte to the Stüdlhütte, over the Ködnitzkees to the Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte and up to the summit of the Großglockner. In very good condition you can do the tour in one day. However, an overnight stay at the Stüdlhütte is recommended. The ascent alone takes about 7 hours on average.Show more
