It was a nice hike, especially through the gorge. About 1/3 of the hike is on a wide forest road, 2/3 on a well marked pathway. The information desk in Scharnitz was very helpful and provide free maps and recommendations for the hike.

This is one of the best hikes I've been on. There is a cable car to the peak, but I strongly suggest completing the hike. It is steep, but well marked. You'll start in Hungerberg and walk through a forested area for awhile. Afterwards you'll enter into a more rocky/mountainous area that takes you to the top. The views at the top are well worth the work.
