Great hike up. Went past arlzer arm for a less steep incline although if you want to save time the straight steep route up would be the fastest. Keep it mind it gets very very steep but so worth it. Amazing views at the top!!

This trail offers great 360-degree views of the Wilde Kaiser, the Kitzbüheler Horn and other surrounding mountains. If you don't want to ascend to the trailhead on foot (which is a 726m/2380ft elevation gain), you can also take the Hartkaiserbahn gondola to the summit station (return ticket is 21€). The trail is partially shaded and offers also a chance to see some wildlife (we saw a family of marmots).

Reaching the Gruttenhütte from the Wochenbrunner Alm is not an easy hike but the spectacular views make it well worth the effort. Start and finish of this loop trail are at the Wochenbrunner Alm (elevation 1085m/3560ft), which can only be reached via a toll road (fee is 4€). The distance is just under 4½ miles, but it has about 535m/1750ft of elevation gain, so some parts are a little strenuous. The first third of the way up goes through a forest and is completely shaded, but as you reach higher altitudes the tree cover continuously diminishes and the last part offers only little shade. Also, the trail gets more rocky the closer you get to the Gruttenhütte. At the Gruttenhütte (elevation 1620m/5315ft) you can refuel with some refreshing drinks or some hearty meals (including some vegetarian options). On the way down, the trail follows a service road, which is a little longer but a lot less steep. Among other things, you will pass an artificial rock circle. Again, the lower altitudes are shaded by the forest, and towards the end you will pass by a deer enclosure. At the end of the trail you can again replenish your energy at the Wochenbrunner Alm.

This is a tough (steep) but rewarding trail with beautiful views. Great restaurant at the top for beers and food. Nice run down, or easy to jump on the cable car back if you fancy an easy finish.

This was just a short walk, but very senic. My wife and I stayed at the hotel and took this walk on the day of arrival before having dinner. It was a nice way to become aquainted with the area and would equally be an excellent after-dinner-walk. We enjoyed looking up to the mountains, across the fields to the trees, up and down the valley and listening to the mountain water move through the rocky riverbed.

The trail to the waterfall is not very inviting. However, it does not take much effort to get to the lookout and can be done in a short amount of time. The trail leads to the best spot for looking at the waterfall.

Wonderful mountain scenery. Loved spotting the mountain goats way up by the rocks in Ladider Valley. The gravel road most of the way is a bit hard on the feet after awhile, but the hike is still very enjoyable. I really like hiking through the Ahornboden at the end. The 3 kilometers on the main road go quick.

This trail gets five stars from me for senic beauty and adventure. I loved every minute of it. The first part of the hike to Lamsenjochhüttte is a normal mountain hiking path and could be rated easy to moderate depending upon one's hiking condition. The second part is more challenging with narrow paths, unmarked paths and heights. It is well worth the effort though. Plan the whole day to cover the 19 kilometers.

It was a nice hike, especially through the gorge. About 1/3 of the hike is on a wide forest road, 2/3 on a well marked pathway. The information desk in Scharnitz was very helpful and provide free maps and recommendations for the hike.
