Vor der Schartenhöhe Murmeltiere gesehen und eine Gamsherde, da keine Alm auf der Höhe auch wenig Mitwanderer..... Natur pur

Very cool view of Bizau town from above as well as the surrounding peaks. The trail itself is well marked and teaches a bit of the history of goat herder's in Bizau the late 1500's by following their trails. There were a few stations that both adults children would love, including a station in which they had several bells hung up and you could ring them to hear the different tones. The trail also begins very aptly by going straight through a sheep pen.

Did this hike just over 10 years ago towards the end of autumn. I can honestly say this was one of the best hikes I've been on, just gorgeous views, mostly shaded, and it was a great way to spend time with what are now lifelong friends. The leaves were an array of autumn colors.

The trail begins 2km earlier under the hill, because they closed the parking lot when the trail starts (maybe it was juat temporary, I don’t know), so all together it took us a little bit over 6 hours with the longer stops at both peaks with pretty fast pace. The trail is challenging, there is a exposed part at the edge of the mountain, but the whole trail is amazing and definitely worth doing it. Spectacular views!

Leichte Wanderung im Oktober

To start this review, this hike is definatley not easy. I'm not sure how and if the app ca change this but is definatley moderate. I hesitate to put difficult only because the length isn't horrible but the hike itself was challenging, more so than an easy rating would lead a hiker on to a potential trail choice. The hike starts with a sharp 1000 ft decent in the first .6 miles with a series of stairs. after this, you hike along the glacier for about a mile or so before you come to a 1200 vertical ascent. At this stage, the trail, sometimes a challenge to find, involves scrambling over loose rocks or boulders up 25-50 feet, steep switch backs, and quite an extensive section of cables that assist you over boulders that drop downward towards the glacier below. Once you make it to the top, you are able to enjoy a level final mile (or so) back to the starting point. Even while this hike was not at all what we expected, it definatley was gorgeous and will go down as one of my favorite, most memorable hikes.

It was a cool, about 11C, day and light rain all day but what a beautiful hike. Highly recommended.

The hike recommends that the summit can be reached in 1.5 hrs and rated as easy on the blogs. We reached in 2 and I wouldn’t agree it was easy. It’s uphill and very rocky, so definitely a leg burn. The views of the reservoir and surrounding Alps are fantastic throughout the hike. Started late and did not have to deal with crowds at the suspension bridge.

Beautiful endless mountain and lake scapes - safe for kids 10 and over if dry (good grip holds on steep descents)

latter half of the trail is outdated path is closed and there are signs saying it isn't safe. was ok to navigate - had to scramble across the stream/river several times. first half of the trail is fantastic (and well signed).

The trail has a steep climb, but a good snack/meal at the Stripsenjochhaus made for a great midway stop to refresh.

This hike took us to the Anton Karg Haus in Hinterbärenbad where we stayed a few nights to explore the area. Absolutely stunning area with unique mountain peaks surrounding.

perfect for begineer. was my 1st trail. I liked.

Beautiful and enjoyable experience.

Reaching the Gruttenhütte from the Wochenbrunner Alm is not an easy hike but the spectacular views make it well worth the effort. Start and finish of this loop trail are at the Wochenbrunner Alm (elevation 1085m/3560ft), which can only be reached via a toll road (fee is 4€). The distance is just under 4½ miles, but it has about 535m/1750ft of elevation gain, so some parts are a little strenuous. The first third of the way up goes through a forest and is completely shaded, but as you reach higher altitudes the tree cover continuously diminishes and the last part offers only little shade. Also, the trail gets more rocky the closer you get to the Gruttenhütte. At the Gruttenhütte (elevation 1620m/5315ft) you can refuel with some refreshing drinks or some hearty meals (including some vegetarian options). On the way down, the trail follows a service road, which is a little longer but a lot less steep. Among other things, you will pass an artificial rock circle. Again, the lower altitudes are shaded by the forest, and towards the end you will pass by a deer enclosure. At the end of the trail you can again replenish your energy at the Wochenbrunner Alm.

This was just a short walk, but very senic. My wife and I stayed at the hotel and took this walk on the day of arrival before having dinner. It was a nice way to become aquainted with the area and would equally be an excellent after-dinner-walk. We enjoyed looking up to the mountains, across the fields to the trees, up and down the valley and listening to the mountain water move through the rocky riverbed.
