It's probably come along way since it was a rubbish tip but I would not recommend this walk. Overgrown with weeds and had to focus on not walking on doggy land mines constantly. Very few views of the water and birdife too.

A short paved walk from the car park to the lookout. Fantastic views!

track has dried up nicely, lots of roos and wallabies plus an unidentified black snake today.

Great and historic hike

Hilly, probably more of a moderate level.

Lots of spiderwebs on narrow trail makes this nice track less fun for trail runners.

Moderate trail good for family, not suitable for seniors.
Enjoy the beautiful views on Perth Hills and Perth plains. Dont miss the walk up to falls bottom. Pause and enjoy the breeze overseeing Perth suburbs and city.

Could you please note that the Noongar name you have given to Buckland hill is incorrect. Dwerda Weelardinup is the name of Cantonment Hill which is where the Navy Signal tower is. The correct name for Buckland Hill is Berrung-Guttuck which I think means place of memory or knowledge but please don't quote me. Check with Prof. Len Collard at Curtin perhaps. Info on the name provided by Daisy Bates from informant Baabur.

Poor signage

What an awesome Trail. It has it all. Scenery, history, wildflowers, quaint little towns and a great coffee shop at Mundaring. It is best to start this trail at Bellevue and ride clockwise. That way you get the slow climb up and it's all downhill home. Take a headlight so you can ride through the historic tunnel.

walk this every weekend, beautiful in winter

Great views

Initally the goat walk trail is a steep incline, but after that the trails becomes easy to walk.
Good walk for kids and dogs

An easy walk for the most part, with a couple of short rocky sections. On our visit the harbour side beach was covered in seaweed, not the most pleasant walking surface.
According to Motion X we walked 4.77 km, climbed 150 m.
By the way, it's nowhere near Middleton Beach; 24 km by Road, according to Google Maps.

Good steep climb up and easy walk back down, nice water fall to walk up to also.

Easy going except for the last bit up a steep rock face. Deviating to the left, rather than taking the "obvious" direct route, reveals a slightly less steep alternative.
There has recently been a fire in the area. One needs to to search for trail markers.
Great views; a most enjoyable short walk.

Great bird walk. Lots of birds and a quaint bird lookout to view the lake.
Easy walk with some great views of lake, ducks, black swans etc.

A moderately difficult trail if you start from the Serpentine Falls end as it is on the uphill. If you're looking for something a bit easier then start from the other end and you will be going downhill instead. I enjoyed the walk though I think it would be a much nicer walk soon after winter so the falls are actually running.

Terrible trail, not marked well at all.. Hard to find and even harder to stay on it.. Unless you feel like getting lost, don't bother.. The pea pebble is so thick you will feel like you are at the beach..

Even thou the hills are quite good..

This is a beginner training/practice loop with skill pointers signed up around the trail and obstacles for learning control. The Mountain Bike Clinics run by Rock n Roll Mountain Biking use this at the beginning of their novice clinics before they do the "real" runs. 100% mountain biking - nothing else!
I took my son here to teach him how to break, change gear and position himself on his bike, then we got a trail map from the bike hire place and took off for 3 hours on the bike trails - it is a great place to mountain bike - trails for all skill levels.

Love this place to ride, Woodleys, Yellow Brick and Fox make for a decent 60min ride. Make sure you go Millbrook Winnery afterwards lunch (Wed-Sat) - it's a great spot.

This is also available as a free paper hand-out from the Rottnest Island Museum - however this smartphone version you some fascinating historical photo's.

As you walk the oldest continuously inhabited street in Australia, Vincent Way, view photographs of those who walked before; a horse and cart on Main Street, the Pilot crew at the Boathouse and women with parasols and corsets boarding the ferry in 1912.
