The Great Alpine Road is an iconic drive of Victoria in the high alpine regions of the Great Dividing Range. The road stretches from Wangaratta to Metung on Daungwurrung and Kurnai land, and takes a minimum of 5 hours to drive in full. The paved road can be accessed year-round, where each season paints the landscape in different colours, with white snow capped peaks in winter, to meadows of vibrant wildflowers blooming through spring. Expect to see diverse landscapes of Eastern Victoria as you pass through Alpine National Park and Mount Buffalo National Park, with picturesque mountain ranges, deep valleys, lush forests, rolling vineyard hills, and eventually out to the Gippsland Lakes which meet with the sea. The road can get bendy in sections, be sure to follow road signage and be prepared for road conditions especially in winter when snow chains might be required. If you drive the full length a good itinerary is to divide the drive into three sections with stops in Bright and Omeo, and in either direction.Show more

A wander through some heritage sites in country Victoria behind Booths winery. Gentle undulations, long grass in Spring, gorgeous wildflowers, rock formations and waterfalls. Some of the walk goes along the creek bed.Show more
