Tracks are not well marked and vary from wide well formed tracks to very (very!) narrow and overgrown trails. Need moderate fitness and stable footwear/knees for all the downhill

Check where you are regularly as tracks are not marked well . Some steep sections and watch out for mountain bikes on the smaller trails. Need moderate fitness. We managed to see two lyrebirds, black wallaby and plenty of birds. Good footwear required.

Great walk through forest with lots of bird life. Crisscrosses forest tracks and roads. Needs moderate fitness and a map or app

Not worth going there. The waterfall is really really small and it was very crowded.

Nice little trail
Varied terrain almost 15k

Did this as my first real hike today, some pretty steep challenging bits and some signage missing aswell, lucky I had the app but would recommend a map. Overall a tiring but satisfying hike.

Fun trail in thick forest with some sneaky single tracks off the beaten path. I missed some of them so make sure you study the map beforehand.

Saw many cockatoos, zero wombats although I am sure they were there and no snakes, which could be a bad thing.

I clocked this trail at 14km if you take the longer way back to the carpark.

I still haven't washed my sneakers I wore on the day I visited here

Varied terrain with both uphill and downhill. Moderate would be a correct rating. It was very muddy for a lot of the trek. Enjoyed the walk. Scenery was rather mundane. Nice challenge, but wouldn’t do it again.

great walking track, went a little further then the said distance, 14km total. it was quite muddy due to rain the previous day but still a good track.

Beautiful trek. Was quite muddy in parts but had some nice scenery too, following Sassafras creek all the way. Narrow track for most of the way so single file necessary if you are going with a group. Well signed and easy to follow. We kept going and went from Sassafras to Monbulk. Would definitely do it again.

Great hike but rather challenging in parts. Feels very rewarding to finish. Was longer than 12km though, more like 15km. Will definitely be back!

So pretty and heaps to see. A good challenge for someone of average fitness. There are heaps of intersecting trails so it’s easy to get off track but that also gives loads of options, keep an eye on your GPS! Some of the trails were quite narrow and muddy and others wide and easy to navigate. Some sign posts have gone missing along the way. Overall amazing! Beautiful spot.

Challenging but rewarding hike. Inexperienced or unfit hikers may find it challenging as you are up and down hills the entire way, with steep inclines at the start and end pushing the legs. Having said that, very happy we did it and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a challenge

I did this hike with my new boots and an 8kg pack in preparation for Mt Kilimanjaro and although all my limbs are very sore, I would definitely recommend this trek! It’s very isolated and muddy but provides a range of different terrains, both uphill and downhill and the signage is pretty good.

It’s actually a pretty difficult hike if you’re not fit. Really beautiful though

Nice walk. A bit damp under foot & muddy at times. But the scenery is well worth it!
