Great trail for beginners or kids. Like previous reviewers we also tracked it at 7.2 km, but it was pretty easy. Mostly flat with only a few ups and downs that weren’t particularly steep. We took our 5 and 7 year olds and they rocked it easily.

Make sure to follow the Byers Track, turn left at Kangaroo Track, both tracks well signposted. O'Briens river crossing knee deep water and steep climb out. Tunnel Track has some steep sections, no signposting. !WARNING! TURN OFF FROM TUNNEL TRACK BACK TO THE START, NO TRACK YOU WILL BE GOING CROSS COUNTRY.

Good walk, not quite as pretty as the Whipstick walk (we did the two together with a break between at Garden of St Erth. The river was nice. However that section is a bit overgrown and some of the paths are crumbling along some fairly steep slopes. Still a very enjoyable walk.

Gorgeous walk which can be done with the Lederderg Heritage River Walk for a longer trail. With a lunch break in the middle at the gorgeous Garden of St Erth, a must see. However if you had to choose between the two walks, this walk although shorter is prettier and more historically interesting. Note there are a lot of very deep holes off the track so the warning to stick carefully to the track is well advised. The spring wildflowers were out everywhere in October. Its more like 7.5km not 5km and took 2 hrs with lots of photo stops and time to read the plaques on the gold mining history of the area, which were actually pretty interesting.

good hike/walk and with very little elevation. Just have some fallen branches along the way that needed to climb over it. We managed to finished it in slightly over 2 hours.

Really nice circuit walk, very little elevation change averaged over the whole track so it’s quite easy going. The parking is right by St Erth gardens, and the track intersects another as well as a dirt road which is not the track, so just watch for the orange markers. A few fallen trees and muddy patches but otherwise the track was pretty clear!

This is an interesting walk the landscape changes as you work ur way down into the valley floor along the river , it’s an easy walk for family’s and great for dogs . We walked it clock wise and enjoyed it .

A good loop. Some trees down and blackberries/scrub to get through. Can choose more defined trail on some section rather than follow bushy track. About 10km loop from Richards Rd. Dogs allowed on lead.

Great trail for the whole family to enjoy.

was not our favorite by far ... unclear and used app the whole way... my GPS says 10.5km

Easy 8.9km -2hr 11min -ages being 40, 48 and 60 yrs with the dog! Green ferns and water in the creek July 2019. Enjoyable Sunday arvo walk!

Walked this relatively easy track in Autumn. River almost dry so not a lot to see, very few birds around. Also some narrow parts of track with steep sides so wouldn't recommend walk for young children under 8. An enjoyable walk though.

Relaxing walk with some beautiful scenery. Stunning river and fern sections with some epic trees. Overall fairly easy but very chill.

a little overgrown at around the half way point but overall enjoyed this walk.very flat and easy going.

Great walk, good trail and plenty of shade if it’s too sunny.

I measured 7.2km with this app. With my 5 year old and my mother and father (75 and 78 years old respectively) took about 2 hours

I measured the actual distance at 10km. With kids and my mother (75 years old) too about 2 hours and 20 minutes to walk.
