Length: 4.6 mi • Est. 2 h 40 m
The Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri Peoples are the Traditional Owners of the region where the Werribee Gorge is nestled. This circuit is a beautiful route along the Werribee River and is well-signed. There are a few technical areas requiring some scrambling and possibly cables, but they’re not that difficult to manoeuvre. The area is generally heavily trafficked especially on weekends given its proximity to Melbourne, only one hour north-west. There are even some areas to go swimming to take in the picturesque gorge.Show more

This hike has excellent payoffs. You'll start along Lerderderg Gorge before splitting off on the Spur Track. After going north for a couple miles you'll take a left onto the Long Point Track. The portion along Long Point Track is quite steep. You'll then take a left and continue along a dirt road called the Blackwood Ranges Track. After this track, you'll take a right back onto Lerderderg Gorge before returning to the car park. Be prepared, this route can be difficult. Make sure to bring water and wear sunscreen!Show more

Length: 2.3 mi • Est. 56 m
This short trail follows the Lerderderg River through native forest and includes a crossing over artificially placed stepping stones to cross the river at two points to reach Grahams Dam (these crossings are not well suited for prams, wheelchairs or those with limited mobility). This is a popular short return trail from the picnic ground and is also great for kids. Show more
