Start in mossy temperate rainforest. Muddy gradual climb to alpine zone. Pay attention, trail marking is limited.

Very easy but pretty walk

Great way to see the heart of Tassie!

Favourite hike so far in Tassie hiking in Snow capped mountains in winter just amazing.

One of my favourite walks so beautiful when it is snowing really like a winter wonderland

Beautiful view

The first day is hard you are constantly hiking up hill with a pack and doesn’t seem to end would not do it again would rather the overland track any day

Loved it really enjoyable and great to do if u do it make sure u do the side tracks also

Simply amazing!

Gorgeous Hike, and outstanding view but I think it should be consider Hard level because the weather can be very rough and the path is uneven at some part. Get a good pair of shoes and get some extra layers because its very windy on top! But it worth it!!!

Was a great hike - some of the trail is a little overgrown in places, mostly around Lake Ball, but all up was a great couple days

Best hike I have ever done. Went 1-6 April. We had rain, gusty winds, sun, heat, cold, mud and lots of beautiful mushrooms. Loved it all.

Incredible. Highly recommended!

A very interesting walk. Lots of different landscapes. Sadly one part was closed for maintenance. But there was a lovely alternative. I really enjoyed it on a sunny Saturday at Easter

Track is well maintained. Beautiful views. Moderate difficulty due to the climbs.

At the start it is an urban walk, then a park walk leading to a trail along a creek. Several cross paths led to some incorrect trail choices. Hang in there past Churchill Ave and the trail becomes steeper and more fun. Great views from the top.

If you’re trying to get to the summit do not follow the trail that AllTrails has posted in here (as of March 2018). You’d be better suited to take the shuttle (or your car if you get to the park early enough -before 7 am) to the Dove Lake stop. I took the Dove Lake Circuit clockwise to Hanson’s Peak (steep with chains but a gorgeous route) you’ll see white poles with red reflectors on them that’s the route. Continue onto the Face Track (pretty strenuous) which will take you to the Cradle Mountain Summit Track. The summit track starts with stairs but takes you to bouldering and climbing. It is not for the inexperienced scrambler. There are parts that are tough alone (if you have short legs) but doable. Sometimes using your knee to prop you up is best. After you’re done with the summit and head down the Overland Track to the Dove Lake Alternate Route (steep with somewhat unnecessary chains). You’ll be back at the bottom and go past the well-known boat shed. It’s beautiful and I would highly recommend it.

A plesant walk with low traffic in June. Worth a visit.

This walk is much harder than it sounds on paper. It is very rocky for almost the whole walk and some steep rocky climbs. It is also poorly marked and very often you need to retrace your steps to find the correct way. Having said that you do get spectacular views of the surrounding escarpments and the falls themselves are very impressive.

An absolutely stunning coastal cave.

Very pretty. An easy hike but lots to look at

A great hike for the fam.

Overcrowded both at the lookout and on the beach. Absolute tourist trap! Nicer beaches to be found elsewhere without the traffic...

a well maintained track that provided remarkable views.

Just stunning, even in the rain!

It's a long journey to the end, and there are lots of stairs along the way, but in the end the view is worth the hike! The rock stairs along the way are very well maintained.

Beautiful trail that is truely diverse in nature all along the way. It's not the shortest track however worthwhile to keep soldier on as once you reach the end the view will lift you off your blistering feet :)
