Fantastic walk 2&1/2 h with a 4,7 and 10 y old. Amazing views, snow on the top of the mountain plus a slight chill in the air. Mostly flat. Great morning activity. December 9th.

This isn’t for the faint of heart. A good hike to test your endurance. When you approach the summit to Cradle it requires extensive scrambling - in some parts over snow. Best to start via Hanson Peak as going that way allows you to hit Marion’s Lookout on the way back. WEAR shoes with grip!!

Only did up to Wombat Peak but this hike was wonderful! Absolutely agree with other reviews Highly suggest to start at Ronny Creek.

Great moderate grade trail to hike on the last weekend of November 2019 in brilliant sunshine and a stiff breeze. We started from Ronnies Crossing whet the Overland Walk commences, detoured via Waldheim Chalet and then along the the Boardwalk to Marions Lookout and back to the Dove Lake car park via a short section of the Dove Lake circuit. The short chain section towards the top of the accent to the Lookout was easily negotiated with a bit of care. At the summit we were rewarded with a spectacular view across to Cradle Mountain with small snow drifts along each side. Seeing several echidnas and a few wombats at the top was a bonus. A spectacular and rewarding hike.

Sooo beautiful, hard but nothing unmanageable

Beautiful hike!! Not too difficult at all, but your feet can get quite wet. Hiking boots are recommended.

Walked the Overland track twice (first time with a 8 and 6 y/o as well, second time with 4 kids) and also walked into Pine Valley from Lake StClair site, in winter. All walks enormously enjoyable. The winter one was stunning, we managed to have to hit to ourselves and were super cosy. Pity the secret has been out so long and it is busy for a big part of the year.

Great hike with some steep section to get to the lookout. Great views of Crater Lake, Cradle Mountain. Lots of wombats near the start at Ronny Creek.

Weather was at its finest! In 5 days we saw sun, shade, snow, hail, pelting rain and showers. We had plenty of fallen trees to scramble over and mud to traverse! Lots of mud!! A little bit of everything. It made an extraordinary trail all the more challenging. Huts were clean but almost all had no heat. Toilets were compost. A few bodies made it tolerable. We made nice friends along the way and compared notes. With a bit of training and proper gear it is a wonderful experience never to be forgotten.

Started at Ronny creek car park and trekked to Marion’s lookout. Great track boardwalk for a good part of it, steep section nearing top but a chain is provided for assistance. We then continued to kitchen hut over some snow but nothing that was too hard. Thought about doing the summit but as the top was covered in snow decided to do the horse trail instead. Much more dilapidated then first track, but still very enjoyable can get steep in sections. Again had to cross over some snow. Great area for trekking
