Length: 48.3 mi • Est. Multi-day
Permits are required from October to May and during these months the walk must be completed north to south and you will need to reserve in advance. Around 8000 people from all around Australia and the world walk the track each year. It is a challenging hike that requires good physical fitness. The weather along the route can be unpredictable, so even in summer it is necessary to bring cold weather gear and waterproof shoes. Most will choose to complete the track in 6-10 days depending on weather conditions and if any side trips are incorporated to the plan. Some recommended side trips include: Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Mount Ossa, and the Du Cane Range. This is one of the most spectacular treks in the world and should be on the bucket list of any adventurer. Show more

Length: 4.0 mi • Est. 1 h 59 m
This is a pleasant trek around Dove Lake, a glacially carved landform, which will take around 2 hours. On this circuit you'll be surrounded by picturesque views of Cradle Mountain and the surrounding peaks, undulate alongside Dove Lake and pass through stretches of lush rainforest vegetation. Even though this is a well maintained track with lots of boardwalks, snow and ice can make some sections very slippery. This circuit is suggested to be walked in a clockwise direction.Show more
