not for the faint hearted. but worth every step/scramble up the side of the mountain.

The rocks are relatively slick and not super grippy toward top. Also gets pretty crowded even on weekday around 9:30 am. Bring some bug spray for mozzies at the start.

Great view. Not a ‘casual’ stroll as some found to their detriment. Dress for sweating as the stair climb is a workout even for the fittest people.

epic ride man

A nice track to walk...can be steep steps in sections..take plenty of water on hot days. Amazing view when at the lookout.

Phenomenal views of the freycient pensinsula (wineglass bay) and coles bay. Went here for sunset and was amazing. Took us an hour to get to the top and then 50 minutes back down. There is some climbing involved in this hike and slippery rocks so wear grippy shoes and do NOT do when went. ( we both slipped twice). The route is very clearly marked with yellow arrows making it easy to stay on the path. This is an absolute must do just come prepared with water and energy for the climbing.

Awesome view. Hike was moderate although quite slippery in some areas (rained the day before)

awesome track, water can be sparse so carry plenty for the day and enough to overnight at wineglass if you are staying there.

Challenging climb. Good shoes and reasonable fitness will help. As stated below climbing and scramble up to some amazing views.

Incredible views from the top but make sure you come prepared. Decent shoes and a reasonable level of fitness are a must as there is some rock scrambling and sheer sections of climbing involved.

Definitely worth the view. Proper footwear is essential as there are some challenging bits with flat and steep rocks to scale up. Going down is harder.

Very very hard hike, don’t listen to the moderate report, only do this if you’re not scared of heights and good at rock climbing. While we were on the way up a man had got his foot stuck fell and broke his ankle had to get a chopper to pick him up. View at the top was magical and coming down is way easier than the climb up!

Fantastic walk - took three days, but would be possible in two (approx 42km). The camping spots are nice, although at Wineglass Bay try and get a spot facing the beach (the area away from the beach and near the creek have hundreds of mosquitoes at night!). The side-track to Mt Freycinet is worth doing for the incredible views.

Overcrowded both at the lookout and on the beach. Absolute tourist trap! Nicer beaches to be found elsewhere without the traffic...

A great walk with an amazing view

Well marked, with a combination of bouldering and graded trails. Some very steep sections requiring scrambling across large, steep rockfaces; definitely requires a good degree of fitness. The views however are definitely worth it. Do not attempt in wet conditions, and bring decent shoes.

I completed this hike in early-January. A moderate incline and a well-maintained trail make this a fairly easy hike to the top with amazing views of Wineglass Bay as your reward. But my favorite part was discovering the adorable wallaby hiding in the rocks behind me as I was taking in the view -- my new favorite animal! I wish I had planned better and had the time to walk down to the beach. It's accessed via a trail just off the summit. Love, LOVE Tasmania!
