walked in earlier in the year before the covid started from the car park it's hard uphill going for at least an hour slow and steady as it goes. there was a couple of bits of the track that could have had a few more markers good think I was with people who knew the track well, we camped at wild dog creek nice spot. stayed only the one night we walked into Dixon's kingdom to have a look the next day. I must say I felt like we were in a very special place when I saw the walls and walking that track to Dixon's kingdom was just glorious. we walked in out same way but will go back to do more exploring and stay longer to explore next time but that first hour is such hard going but well worth it.

An absolute must for hiking enthusiasts! I went in February 2020 and experienced a heat wave, extreme winds, rain and snow. You have to be prepared for it all. There is always room in the huts to sleep, even if you have to sleep under a table in the kitchen. I did the full track (didn’t take the ferry) in 6 days but next time I will plan to stay 7-8 days so I can do more side trails and mountains. For a little more insight - https://youtu.be/T0TYYJ4w2u4

Did this trail solo, yesterday (20/06/2020). Is on the easy side, has nice markings - toilets, car park and resting area both at start and end. Definitely recommend

We did the track in February 2020. We had incredible weather - no rain the entire time, except overnight on day 4. Hiked the entire track including around Lake St. Clair which was worth it because we saw an echidna finally on the last day. There were so many highlights. Side trips are optional but don’t skip the waterfalls! Pelion Hut at sunset is magical. If you want to see Tassie wildlife that is the spot.

Some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia! Lakes great. A slog to get out once you have done it. I was lucky to have great weather.

The Overland Track is a stunning piece right in the Tassie Wilderness. The fitter you are the better as when I did it I was not fit at all. So I had to double the time between huts. it's stunningly majestic but tough going in parts and mainly up hill. This walk is one of the hardest things I have ever done and survived. Walking through river beds and tree roots from Alpine forests, button grass marsh, rain forest to eucalypt forest. Preparation is key, personal locator beacons a must. Arduous at times and totally challenging, we did it 6 days, but give yourself more time, maybe 8-10 days to really enjoy the beauty

This track is closed due to fire damage although it is still frequently used and perfectly serviceable. It’s a tough track that took 8 hours to reach the summit and 4 hours back down. The summit is dangerous, requires rock climbing and I would not recommend it, and definitely not in bad weather or solo!
