Unbelievable hike! Took us 7 nights and 8 days starting in melaleuca and ending at cockle creek. We got very lucky with weather and because of that we lucked out with some wildlife, like the spotted tailed quoll and most of the endemic birds! The days over the passes are pretty tough though so be ready for a challenge. I would recommend camping as close as you can to the base of the iron range before going over (Louisa River). Would highly recommend this hike to people who want remote wilderness and some unbelievable beaches along the way.

Incredible hike! Great challenge and worth every bit

definitely the most beautiful track!

although it's a 25 km walk but definitely can do within a day, started at 7:30 and finished at around 15:30. Highly recommended going clockwise direction. The track between Dixon's kingdom camping area and Adelaide lake isn't immediately obvious as overgrown bushes, we in fact wasted some time there looking for the path and views aren't as impressive as the starting bit, still a great track and I highly recommend it!

Breath taking views, and ever-changing environments. I GPS tracked the entire walk which was actually 50km total.

Great track with much see and enjoy. Make sure you take your time to enjoy the side trips.
Need to take wet weather gear because the weather can change rapidly.

beautiful! waterproof shoes are essential though!

awesome track, water can be sparse so carry plenty for the day and enough to overnight at wineglass if you are staying there.

Done it twice. Keen for the next one already. Hopefully Winter next year.

The 4 day (3 night) walk is a great way to see the rugged coastline of Tasmania and take in some of the most stunning views in the South of the island. The huts are wonderfully maintained and above average for trail accommodation!

Great way to see the heart of Tassie!

The first day is hard you are constantly hiking up hill with a pack and doesn’t seem to end would not do it again would rather the overland track any day

Loved it really enjoyable and great to do if u do it make sure u do the side tracks also

Simply amazing!

Was a great hike - some of the trail is a little overgrown in places, mostly around Lake Ball, but all up was a great couple days

Best hike I have ever done. Went 1-6 April. We had rain, gusty winds, sun, heat, cold, mud and lots of beautiful mushrooms. Loved it all.

(Done as a 4 day walk with hut accommodation) Beautiful scenery. Walk was designed as an introduction to multiday hiking, and for families so might be a bit "cushy" for the seasoned hiker who likes to rough it.
The distances each day aren't long, so walk slowly and enjoy the landscape.
Rangers are excellent, facilities great.

You can do the walk without staying at the huts.

Incredible. Highly recommended!

The views on this hike are spectacular, the overnight huts have well equipped kitchens and the beds are extremely comfortable.
The rangers at the huts are a wealth of knowledge and their daily briefs are very informative.
Each day has something amazing to offer, views, wildlife and the tracks are very well maintained.
Best 4 days of my life, absolutely loved it.

Fantastic scenery, although the track feels a little "over-engineered" and designed to attract people who don't have much Tasmanian hiking experience. I would recommend the free version of this walk, done in one day or as an overnight walk:

Most breathe taking scenery and truly life changing experience! Would do every year!

Just stunning, even in the rain!
