Unbelievable hike! Took us 7 nights and 8 days starting in melaleuca and ending at cockle creek. We got very lucky with weather and because of that we lucked out with some wildlife, like the spotted tailed quoll and most of the endemic birds! The days over the passes are pretty tough though so be ready for a challenge. I would recommend camping as close as you can to the base of the iron range before going over (Louisa River). Would highly recommend this hike to people who want remote wilderness and some unbelievable beaches along the way.

Wonderful trek with beautiful views. Trek very well maintained. Light traffic when we walked.

Amazing lookout, family friendly track. Well signed and breath taking views.

easy traileri, not much of a fall

Wish we could capture the clean air here!
The fern rainforest was breathtaking before you emerge to take in the impressive 90m falls.
Well beaten track and some lovely log benches along the way for rest stops. Family friendly.

Beautiful. Good swim spot but cold. Worth it

Nice coastal walk. Trek well maintained and an easy walk with no steep inclines. A few areas not sign posted.

Loved this walk. Great views

beautiful scenery with lots of options for hiking

Awesome circuit walk to celebrate the New Year!
We started early to avoid the heat/crowds and walked clockwise. There are lots of steps down to Wineglass Bay beach from the lookout, so walking the other way would be more difficult.
Take plenty of water - the 1L per person recommendation at the trailhead would be insufficient for most people, particularly later in the day.
Also keep a lookout for snakes. We came across 3 within 1 hour and were warned of another by hikers coming the other way. So tread carefully and wear enclosed shoes.

Breath taking views, and ever-changing environments. I GPS tracked the entire walk which was actually 50km total.

Stunning scenery. One of my favourite places in Australia.

Lovely walk with views of the cradle mountains and lakes. Not to challenging some uphill climbs but breathtaking views. At Rooney creek there are lots of wombats about so keep a look out.

Great hike with views of wineglass bay, the incredibly beautiful hazards beach (which I preferred to wineglass beach). Hike wasn’t too streneous and easily done in trainers. Was fairly busy did this one 23rd December, but still had some alone time. Bring lots of water, it gets hot! Also sun screen and head out early to avoid heat. We did this route clockwise and was definitely easiest done this way around

Moderate hike.
45 min for 1 way

A nice short walk through rain forest!

It was a beautiful walking track with various look out points along the cliff face. highly recommend!

it was a good trail, though I'd recommend continuing along the coastal trail up to Clemes Peak. the rainforest and view from the top were fantastic.

Amazing. Must do

Short easy walk on a boarded trail. Saw lots of animals on the walk such as two wombats and an enchilada.

Beautiful easy family friendly trail.

Beautiful! At the boulder unfortunately we couldn’t climb as was steeper than we thought and weather wasn’t the best for the hike however the rainforest and farm land was beautiful. Will definitely try again when weather is better!

Great trail. A bit of hard work, but well worth the view once you make it up!

Very easy but pretty walk

One of the best short hiking trails in Tassie and certainly one of the most popular! Really beautiful views from above, but if you want to make a day out of it be sure to pack some snacks and venture down to the beach itself - you'll often find you have it all to yourself!

The 4 day (3 night) walk is a great way to see the rugged coastline of Tasmania and take in some of the most stunning views in the South of the island. The huts are wonderfully maintained and above average for trail accommodation!
