Athelstone, South Australia Map

We saw wild life birds, koalas and kangaroos. the view is great at different points on the walk.

Nice walk, mostly easy only one hill which is moderate. In the wet it can be slippery in patches but easy to avoid. Some areas rocky but nothing dramatic, there is a nice ruin to have a look at and great scenery.

Lots of friendly people along the way, went on a Tuesday early afternoon so really quiet and peaceful. Beautiful scenery and the cave is stunning. Super easy walk along a track, nice for any level just to see the cave and waterfall.

this is really an easy trail going clockwise, I am not an expert hiker and I would still consider this a relatively easy trail compared to some of the other moderate ones I've done.

Make sure you wear good shoes as there is alot of loose rock on the ground. Saw heaps of wildlife including an echidna! The hill towards the end was brutal though. Also directions to get there are way off and try to take you to fire trails not open for public use.

Quiet and peaceful. Early morning hike was extremely refreshing.

This was my favourite track for ages, love the historical significance of the Newman's ruins site. Plenty of wildlife to see at the right times and different flora depending on what time of year you go. Fairly easy going walk.

Lots of kangaroos

Definitely not an easy track. Trail is very rocky most of the way and quite steep on one half of the trail so I would rate it as moderate. Nonetheless it was very enjoyable. Saw a lizard & some hawks!

Good walk, some bits were tiring but most of the track was very easy. Saw some koalas! Had some nice views of Adelaide including the CBD and of bush areas. There are multiple other short tracks in the same area so if you want to extend your walk you can do the other tracks afterwards. There are toilets at what i believe is the Gate 1 entrance

about 3/4 of the loop is easy open trails with a very manageable gradient. 1/4 is slightly more technical and rocky but nothing too challenging.

nice walk, quiet lose ground in some spots but all in all was great.

pretty good walk, taken the dog up there twice now. wouldn't say it was kid friendly to be honest it's tough going in some spots.

love the walk

Run this regularly with a head torch. The trail is really well maintained and is quite wide as its used for fire vehicle access as well. Recommended for a non technical run with reasonably easy ascents. Total elevation gain is about 230m on an anti clockwise loop according to my watch. Great on week days but gets really busy on weekends.
