This was a great trail with some good hills but be careful coming down some of the looser dry soil & rocks. Only really one good photo opportunity but fantastic local bush to immerse yourself in. Great places for bird spotting along the water’s edge. At a good pace, it shouldn’t take more than 1.5hrs.

Great place, really enjoyed the hike.
Took around 1.5hrs and a few steep hills that got the blood pumping.
Plenty of bird life.

It gets weird at the dam wall but otherwise a very nice walk. You have to go into The Gaps' back streets. The walkabout info centre has a paper with directions you can have.

Grate walk, bit steep.

nice easy walk

A great walk with lots of shade but I don't see how it's a loop. We got all the way around to the dam and were stuck. We ended up body crawling under a fence to get to another pathway. If someone knows what we missed, please do add it here!

long walk on the beach the rest is good scenery and pleasant walking Tony Davenport

poor signage actually no signs except walking trail, some names would benefit everyone

The trail is really good maintained. It’s a lot up and downs. We did it with a 8 year old one in 4,15h. If you take enough to eat and to drink and do it on a whole day it’s a nice track. No bottle refill on the whole track.

it is a great walk marred on slightly by two things; the signage at key points is not good(we did an extra loop) and the section at the dam wall is is very unclear and blocked locked gates. We ended up doing 14.6km instead of 11 which was ok if at little frustrating.

Enjoyed this on my own, easy to navigate. If you start clockwise, just keep turning right. By going clockwise you get the most challenging hills out of the way first. Start early and take lots of water, it gets hot. would do it again.

Great early morning walk on a very hot Brisbane day... a lot was shaded... there are some challenging hills to give you a work out and the views of the reservoir are lovely. Will include in our favourite walking trails.

nice walk very nice flura and fauna

An enjoyable hike. There’s a few dips and elevations but could be achievable by most.
Bring water for hot days. Most of the track is covered and the reservoir is beautiful to look at.

Hard slog on a mountain bike for the average person , not much to look at , take plenty of water !

Stop for an amazing lunch at the tea house afterwards!

Wonderful really enjoyed it

Wonderful, really enjoyed it

Great views. One hour to get to the top without stopping. The dam at the bottom is really nice as well. Nice views from the dam wall.

Lovely and quiet trail, tough on the legs for newbies as there are some steep sections and there is a tiny bit of rock scrambling. Great views from the summit. A good transition away from the standard, short curated tracks if you're looking to go a little more rugged than usual.

Great hike with great views

road biking

I picked road biking because my friend I decided to give the Lake Manchester loop a go with our drop bar cyclocross / gravel bikes. It was our first visit here and we were unsure of what to expect. Certainly all he photos we had seen excited us of the prospect. We set off with the first climb up past the dam wall to find a fantastic view over the lake. The first km or so was rather picturesque and easy then the climbs started.. they usually don’t bother us because we are actually regular mountain bikers.. we did realise before long however that the gearing on our bikes was to high for the climbs.. especially my friends Giant TCX cyclocross bike.. my Trek Checkpoint gravel bike was more suitable but still tough going with the narrower tyres giving less traction than required. Even though we bike a hiked some of the steeper hills the scenery around the lake made it all worthwhile. So in summary if you want to ride this loop an MTB is definitely the best option to climb the hills and probably more fun on the descents. We just thought it worthwhile to let other gravel bike riders know that it is doable on these bikes if you are rolling wider grippier tyres, your gearing is lower and you are relatively fit.

doesn't get much better.

What a journey! Great track for beginners with beautiful views and a rewarding finish!

Relatively easy track up. Views at the top not of lake but rather of the Fassifern Valley. Rocky sections and consider level of comfort of children with rocky tracks with unprotected cliffs.

A couple of big hills but plenty of bird and animal life to keep you interested plus water views throughout most of the track. Bonus cafe and animal park at the start and finish.

hard slog for inexperienced hiker but well worth the effort

Was a nice hike, did both the walking track and the shared bike/walking track and both were pretty. The creek that you pass half way through the hike was a nice surprise. Would recommend.

Great track for a work out. Not very picturesque. Loved listening to the bellbirds.
